Shooting Star is one of my favorite and most visited restaurants in the East Bay. Great price with great food, a huge selection of menu, and authentic flavor food definitely push them towards the top of my list. I have been here for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner; the quality of the food never falter. You get great appetizers, entrees, and even desserts! I look forward to having a wedding in this restaurant. No joke.
Ordered Broccoli Chicken. Had to choose between rice or noodles. I didn’t really want either one. Salad came with a thousand island dressing. Would have preferred a vinaigrette. Soup wasn’t best I’ve had. The chicken and broccoli with some carrots had a light chicken broth and hint of garlic seasoning. Wasn’t horrible and I liked it was cooked very hot when served. Restaurant is in the heart of China Town.
Late night is the best here! I literally only come after 10 o'clock. I have had Uber Eats from here before and have had takeout. Both have been very satisfactory. Pretty typical atmosphere of what you would consider a old-school kind of Chinese restaurant dining room experience. Always lots of young people here and families. I think the customer service could use a course or two on candor and friendliness when it comes to the wait staff. But overall good to good & you can expect your experiences to be pretty consistent. I heard their desserts are good too, but I've never had any.
One of my favorite late not spots in Oakland and it stays open late. Well known for their astrology drinks
Beef stew dish was 99% fat. Only one small piece of meat-everything else was fat. Super gross. The Mongolian beef, too, was light of actual beef. Mostly onions. This place is cutting costs and charging a ton. Won’t be trying again (this was delivery)
Good HK Trendy food. Great milktea either hot or iced. They have TV broadcasting Chinese programs unless there's an international sport game or event. Sometimes crowded
