Shipwrecked Tiki Bar

Super fun, but very dark so be careful if you are visually impaired like me.

Highly recommend to come here and have few drinks with friends. The deco was so amazing and unique, also very clean. Drinks are really good and different!

It's a bar with a cool theme and rum-heavy menu that "cannot be substituted". PROS: The decorations/visuals are awesome. Cool subnautical theme complete with galley dungeon rooms. CONS: The bartenders refused to make even basic cocktails that weren't on the menu because they "cannot substitute". I was asking for drinks I usually order at bars and was told "no" to basic cocktails because they weren't on the menu, reason being they "cannot substitute". All I asked for was a mezcal old-fashioned or a Manhattan. I've just never been told that before, and found it odd. If you want sweet frilly drinks with lots of sugar you'll do great.

Incredible atmosphere and good drinks. Lots of seating but you may need to put a bit of effort in snagging one for a larger group. Still very awesome and drinks are tropical. Dangerous delicious Parking: Best to park by H street in the Amtrak overflow. Or be on the hunt for an open street spot

Came here on a Sunday, forgot I was in a college town. Very busy, staff were very attentive despite the intensity of the night. If I was 21 it would be the only bar I would go to.

I agree with what another reviewer (Carlos Castaneda) said about classist/discriminatory admission. I must have looked somewhat disheveled or sketchy when I went, because the "bouncer" seemed convinced that my ID was fake. She made a big show of bending my driver's license back and forth to see if it felt flimsy/fake. Then she started interrogating me, apparently to see if the information on my ID was real, and finally she had to call a second person back to double-check my license. Personally I don't think this is an acceptable way to treat customers -- the bouncer should just look at the birthday and if the person is over 21 let them in, end of story.
