Shiki Omakase

It was a random find when I traveled to NYC. I had an appt, so I requested a fast meal. They really accommodated me. A $65 lunch Omakase that I enjoyed from the first dish til the end. I was shockenly surprised at the quality of the fish. Definitely exceed my expectations. Highly recommend this place.

Really friendly and warm service! However, I found the food itself to be okay - some pieces were excellent like the uni and scallop but a lot of the fish pieces were lackluster.

The atmosphere and environment were very casual, and the food was delivered with extreme care.

Our experience at Shiki was only okay. For NYC, the quality is not the best for the price. I’ve been to much better omakase places in the city with much fresher and higher quality fish & seafood for the same price point. Overall, I’d unfortunately hesitate to recommend Shiki. If you must go, I’d recommend the $65 piece set. We had the $100 17 piece set, and it didn’t feel worth it. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We visited on Valentine’s day and they surprised each couple with a complimentary rose which was a nice gesture.

Recently tried their $100 17 piece omakase. Overall a decent omakase experience, but I had a few complaints. I thought the seafood itself was fresh, but I wish the rice had been more fresh. Also, for several pieces, I felt like there was too much wasabi flavour, which I didn't enjoy.

Really nice service. The chef was a sweet man. The quality of the seafood is really good. It just melts in your mouth. We went for Valentine’s Day and they gave me and my partner a rose!! Made the experience even better.
