Very thinly sliced 6 piece sushi rolls. Out of all the sushi I’ve tried in Chattanooga, this was the worst, yet most expensive. Their profit margins must be ridiculous. Even Publix sushi is a better option than this.
Probably good for takeout. Chinese food looked reallygood but we had sushi. Staff was not friendly at all.
The food tasted good, portion sizes good, table clean, etc. I don't think the lady working the front is very nice but it's pretty on-brand for the way I've been treated by Chinese folks while traveling the Western Pac. I don't think she means anything by it but still worth noting that you're probably going to be met with some stern customer service but I think the food is really good.
Shangri-la is the goat. At least now that China Cafeteria is out of business. RIP CC. This place thrives on lunch. You can get a boat load of food for relatively cheap, and their Shangri-la chicken is absolutely to die for. It is so freaking good. I've never had their sushi, honestly, but I've heard they used to do a mean sushi buffet back in the day that I hope they bring back at some point. It's a bit more expensive when it comes to dinner, but it's still worth it on occasion for the amount of food you have. The Combo is supposedly less food but comes with an egg roll, and if so, I'd like to see the entree because it must literally just be like a 5 gallon bucket of chicken and rice. Long story long, this place is good, please give it yoyr business so it doesn't go away like CC. RIP CC.
Great orange chicken and rice. But they are absolutely rude here. Plus the sushi cook uses the restroom without washing his hands ewww.
Shangri-la had been my go to, hole in the wall, sushi spot for a few years. Unfortunately, I was recently served frozen tuna in my sashimi dinner. There’s zero chance the sushi chef couldn’t tell the fish was still frozen, and even so, I don’t blame the chef for this issue. This is a management error. Buying cheap, frozen fish shows the management/ owners don’t care about their customers. The service isn’t friendly and the atmosphere is sub par. The food was honestly terrible. I’m not sure what went wrong with this establishment, and I’m sorry to have to take my business elsewhere.
I got the sesame chicken, the yellow tail and the tuna roll to-go. For my first experience it wasn’t ideal. If you call to order they charge you a $2 fee, which I wasn’t aware of until pickup. The food was okay. The rice in the sushi was a little dry. The flavor of the sesame chicken was good but their fried rice in their combos is just fried rice with no eggs or vegetables.
Best west coast Chinese in all of Chattanooga.
