Shanghai No 1 Seafood Village is probably the best spot for yum cha (dim sum) in the immediate area. Being a Shanghai restaurant there won't be some dishes you would find in a Cantonese restaurant, but never the less, the food is excellent. Highly recommend their own fried pork baozi. They have a very large menu of really well done, classic Shanghai cuisine. The menu is nicely organized. Service here is generally friendly, but yes, during morning tea time, the place is crowded and the servers can be a little overworked. The restaurant is clean, though the restrooms can be less than nice on some visits. Prices are moderate. Vegetarian options: There is a section for vegetables in the menu. It isn't extensive, but like all Chinese food, there is much that is easily adaptable. Parking: It is best to park underground where parking is easy. Above ground, the lot is crowded, usually full and difficult to maneuver. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant has wheelchair seating available at the tables.
The dim sums are $5, 6, 7 for A, B, C during the weekend. But it doesn’t show in the menu. Talk to the waiter, he said I can talk to manager. What bad service is this! Never come back
Service 0 stars The dimsums are 7, 6, and 5 dollars for C, B and A dishes. However the menu says they are all 4.99. We ordered not knowing until the bill came. We spoke to the manager and asked about the difference, we were told the advertisement at the restaurant entrance said all for 4.99ea on only weekdays. The manager flat out refused to make it right, nor did they say they will correct the menu to make it right for other customers. Consider yourselves warned on this. FOOD This Shanghai restaurant is trying to be Cantonese as well. But it's failing. The lobster noodles, lobster was fresh, but lack the ginger and scallions fragrance. Noodles was basically dry and blend soy sauce lomain. Overall two stars. About the dimsum, it's pretty bad for the price especially. The chicken feet tasted nothing but salty, so was the tofu skin wrap, the hand shui gok did not taste fresh/skin is tough like it's been thrown back in the oil pot after it was out for a while. Only thing that tasted decent was the shrimp rice roll, although I ordered the C version with chives, I found maybe one piece of chive if any. Overall two stars for being lenient, a very disappointing experience. We will not return for cantonese food at least.
Food is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing!
Very good food and decent service. The dining room is long due for a face-lift though.
