Vegetarian options: It's been awhile since I've been there and the recipe has changed

This place not so gracefully provided me with the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in quite a few years. I placed my $33 order (a chicken, 2 sides, and 2 drinks) at the drive-through; there were zero other cars anywhere in the drive-through. There were two cars in the parking lot. 15 minutes after they took my order and I paid, I finally had to go inside to figure out why my order had not been fulfilled and nobody ever came back by the drive-through window. The one person behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about. This is the same person that took my order, took my money, and gave me a receipt. I had to produce the receipt to prove that they took my money (there were still no other customers in the drive-through). I probably shouldn’t lay too much blame on this person, because they were clearly not of right mind as evidenced by their slow, incoherent speech and inability to carry out simple processes like making two pieces of toast at the same time. This is not me being facetious; the person was literally having trouble making two pieces of toast at the same time (the manager even eventually said something to them about it). And this was the sole person running taking care of customers. Once I asked for my money back, the manager came out complaining and giving me a hard time saying not to blame “the help”. To make matters worse, the food wasn’t even for me; it was for some needy folks down the road that had asked me not for money, but for food. When I told the manager that, this guy tells me I shouldn’t be feeding them because they’ll just keep asking for more food. He said he knows their situation, but didn’t wish to elaborate. So, if you’re ever wondering if you should help someone in need, just ask Shababy’s ; they’ll do an evaluation for you and let you know their worthiness. Shameful. After about five minutes of going back-and-forth with the manager to give me my money back, the only sane and reasonable person working there (an 18-is year old young man) gave me my money back, and I got the heck out of there never to return. While I’d never recommend anyone visit this place, if you choose to take the risk, I encourage you to be prepared for utter disappointment…and have a backup plan.

The ribs were very tender the okra and hush puppies were crispy and the coleslaw was good

Food was excellent.

I don’t know what’s happened to this place lately. It use to be pretty good. I spent 30 bucks on a call in order of wings tonight 02/09/24. I live 4 miles from this joint. My smoked wings in honey gold were so cold it was like they were straight out of the refrigerator. The floor in the dining room was like skating on grease.
