Seasoned with Soul...

Came from New Jersey for my sons Army graduation. My wife and I knew we wanted some down country cooking. Ordered the Whiting with 3 sides,my wife ordered oxtail with 2 sides. All Great tasting,generous portions. Service was pleasant, made me a sweet tea. Everything fresh to order. Signed the wall. Kiss the Cook. 2 thumbs up.

Was giving this place a try after hearing so many good things. Ordered food through Door dash at 7:33pm said it would be 20-30min wait. No problem.....it's now 9pm resturant is closed no answer when call and no food

NEVER RETURNING AGAIN !! I was so very disappointed in this place. Saw it on TikTok and so me and my boyfriend decided to give it a try since they had soooo many “great reviews”. First and foremost, the place looks very run down and we were hesitant to even go in. When we did we did not receive great customer service. We grabbed a menu to look over it and not even two seconds later the young girl at the register asked “Are y’all ready to order?” We told her we’re looking over the menu and to give us a moment then stepped to the side. She handed someone their order then again asked “are yall ready to order now ?” So again we told her just one moment. My boyfriend ordered the chicken wings with candied yams and mac n cheese and I ordered the pork chops with candied yams and rice and gravy. Long story short, it took 30 minutes to get our food but it was expected because that’s what the comments told us about. Y’all… that was the most BLANDEST “soul food” I’ve ever had the displeasure of eating. His wings tasted like fried flour and lacked so much seasoning and the cornbread was so dry and crumbly. Let’s not even get started on the Mac n cheese. It was too oily and the noodles were gummy and overcooked and the cheese was just ew. My pork chops had SOME flavor but was so dry and looked grey, the rice in my rice and gravy was like one clumped up mess and was overcooked and lacked flavor. The only thing we completely ate off our plates were the yams. They should be ashamed of themselves for the name “Seasoned With Soul” when the place lacked both the seasoning and the soul. 0/10, would NEVER recommend again.

Pork chops, Mac and cheese, fried okra, broccoli, cornbread and sweet tea. Cooking like Grandma's! I had to take half of it home. I highly recommend this place.
