A gem of a place where it's cozy and offers booths, a bright room of tables with chairs, outdoor seating and a bar. Sawyer's menu comprises appetizers, soups and gumbo, salads, plated meals with a variety of side choices, desserts and a slew of beverages. It's so clean. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive.
The Cajun food was good! The retro dining experience is super cool. Overall a great restaurant in east Austin.
Food was not good. I ordered and paid for biscuits and gravy. Not good. Biscuits dense, gravy brown and tasteless. Bacon tasted like it was cooked two days ago, service slow....real slow.. Also checked out the chicken and biscuit sandwich. Strange taste..if my eyes were closed, I could not say I was eating a chicken and biscuit sandwich. Sad for the kids that frequent this restaurant...that they are served this low grade food.
I don’t really ever write reviews but this was genuinely one of the worst dinning experiences I’ve ever had. We had to wait two hours to get seated and it was due to the hostesses constantly lying about how much longer it was going to take to get seated. We finally get seated only to wait ONE more hour to get our food. How many times did the server check in on us? None. No refills of water, nothing. It was just ridiculous- 100% not worth it.
This was my first time trying chicken fried steak. I had the side of Brussels sprouts. The meal was great. My server Taylor was awesome. She knew I was a newbie to this meal and checked back several times to ensure I liked it. She deserves more than five stars.
Didn’t even have a chance to try the food before leaving. I refuse to spend my money, or waste my time, at an establishment with disgustingly rude servers. No one wants to eat at a place where their server is acting entitled, being rude, and not attentive.
Excelente lugar para ir por un Brunch, prove el Biscuit Fried chicken y estaba delicioso.
Waited 2 hours to be seated only to wait 1 hour to get our food, this is ridiculous save you time and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE‼️. The waiters work as if they have weights on their feet, taking their time with no consideration for their customers
Went for lunch got the shrimp and grits it was fresh and very flavorful only thing is wish it had more grits but where it lacked in grits the side of fried boudin patties made up for it.
Great weekday brunch/lunch spot! They have cheap mimosa carafes with different flavors. I especially loved their chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes And their fried boudin patties are seriously so good! Don't pass this place up! They have online ordering too for to-go orders.
