Arrived here on Saturday at 2:15 and wanted to try their top-rated BBQ. However, as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a young man behind the register who promptly told us they lock the doors at 2:45 because they close at 3:00. I acknowledged that but then he refused to seat us and said all we could do was order take-out. So, apparently the employees are more concerned about getting off on time than accommodating paying customers who make their jobs possible. This is without a doubt, the WORST customer service I've encountered ANYWHERE in my life! This was my first (and LAST time) to visit this establishment as they clearly do not care about or appreciate their customers!
Hot and muggy inside, had the Philly, was good, B-, asked for a side of bbq sauce for dipping with fries, was sent out a Ramekin of a greasy substance with onions chopped, tasted nothing like their bbq sauce prior or any bbq sauce, sides are small plastic Ramekins with 3 or 4 Tbls of your choice of side item, playing it cheap with small portions. Potato salad was good, B÷, collards good flavor, mostly stems, and with the small volume was not a good experience, best part of the visit was the waitress keep the coke full, pleasant server, won't return, owners appear not interested in the joint anymore.
Went at lunch. Was going to do the special (hot sausage sandwich) but was told that it was sold out, so I tried the BBQ pork sandwich with beans as my side. Food came out. Pork looked and tasted like the canned BBQ from the school cafeteria. It was soaked in that juice which made the bun all soggy. If you are looking for a real smoked, pulled pork sandwich, look somewhere else. I'm giving 2 stars because the beans were pretty good. For $17, I expect real BBQ.
