Really nice restaurant just across the broadway theatres that accommodates intimate and large groups. Somewhat eclectic decor and beautiful bathrooms taking you back in time. The menu and service was just what I expected and there is food for every taste the deserts are superb too. With pasta and rice options you can’t go wrong.
Been there quite a few times, but this past time this week the servers were confused they interrupted people talking without saying excuse me , they didn’t know which person ordered what food , then when we had coffee there were no spoons had asked for spoons , just very awkward. The service was just extremely awkward 2, 3 stars I’m just surprised the floor manager didn’t catch it
Iconic. It has been around almost since time began. A real NYC/Broadway vibe. You have to go here to experience NYC. Food is excellent- not Michelin star but still very good. Thanks for the experience!
Not worth the price. I’ve lived in NYC majority of my life and understand inflation is at play right now. But the amount they charge is not even close to the quality of food. Service was okay, but the staff were so talkative. Heard the entire conversation from a manager making a mistake on one of their staffs schedule on a Saturday. Unprofessional and ruined the experience - take that to the back of the house. And the food was almost inedible. Was tempted to get a refund, but just wanted to get out of there. Barely ate 5% of my plate and waiter didn’t even bother to care. Definitely will not recommend or go back ever again.
This is perfection in motion. The servers are older, which told me (at least) that this is their career and is something they take seriously. None of this, "I'm so-and-so and I'll be taking care of you tonight". You're not my nurse so stop using that stupid expression. Anyway, back to Sardi's. Being in the heart of the theater district, it was B.U.S.Y. but that's cool because we got to see just how efficient the whole operation is. The place is festooned with framed caricature art of the famous performers who have eaten there over the decades. Best of all, at no time did I feel that the restaurant was disingenuous, flashy, or otherwise catering to the Times Square crowd (I'm looking at you, Ellen's Stardust Diner). Sardi's is the real deal.
Sooo tasty and easy to get into. Would love to come back, the tiramisu was the best i have ever had
Neat place to get a drink before or after a show. Decorated with caricatures of Broadway stars, providing an inviting atmosphere to relax and socialize.
It’s a classic for a reason. Pro tip- don’t wait in line at the claustrophobic bar during intermission next door when you can quickly slip out, go to the upstairs bar at Sardis, be incredibly well taken care of by the professionals there. and have a quick drink and access to using a decent, clean bathroom. We wished we had more time to spend at this amazing place full of nyc history.
Famous for actors hanging out there. Great location in the middle of the theater district. Food is good. Drinks are good. Expensive but great location.
