San Tung

I wanted to take my family to Chinese for a tradition we have around the holidays. The food is good but if they make a mistake they will give you attitude when you ask them to fix it. The atmosphere was horrible, everything seemed so rushed and I swear servers were hanging around the table waiting for us to be done to give our table to the next customers. This is not a place to enjoy a sentimental meal with family, unless you ignore the atmosphere and rushed service.

Their dry fried chicken wings are why there are lines. It’s funny because they’re called dry but they’re super sticky and yummy. One of the best wings in the city. These wings are incredibly crispy, even after sitting for 45 minutes in our car as we drove home. They are tossed in a sweet and spicy garlicky sauce that has Szechuan peppercorns in it. The peppercorns add a numbing type of spice that isn’t in your face; it just adds more complex flavor to the dish. When you eat at the restaurant, you will see at least one order of these wings on every table! These are by far the best thing on their menu. Food is outstanding

When you arrive and walk into the narrow entrance, turn to your right and add your name and next to it, your party size in numeric form, to the waitlist on the white board mounted on the wall. Lines are long, typically you will wait 20-45 minutes to be seated. Everything is great on the menu, no frills is very much the case, so orders are delivered immediately. Don't forget the most important rule--Order any dish to go. After midnight it turns to candy in the fridge! :) Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome here and the crowd is loud. High chairs.

The original dry fried chicken which is why most people eat here is excellent. The beef noodle soup has very good soup and noodles but very little beef portions. The jajangmyeon is good as well. The lemon chicken is bad and doesn't belong on the menu. For a restaurant that makes very good food I thought all of the items on the menu would be good.

Yeah you already know. This is probably one of the best Chinese spots in SF. Great food. The wings. Oh my gosh, the wings. They are sweet and have great flavor to them chicken. Sweet chicken wings may sound a little weird, actually I think they are sort of normal. I liked the noodles and the soup was good. To be honest, I could say the names but I have no clue how to spell the dishes and I am going to greatly butcher them. Tenjangjigge. That’s my attempt at the spicy soup. Jajameoung. That’s another attempt at this black noodle dish. The rice was good, service was decent. The atmosphere was good as well, nice spot a little out of the chaos of 9th and Irving, would highly recommend.
