Food and service is awesome! Best Ramen I've had since leaving Japan.
The food was subpar. The chicken in the ramen was rubbery and I feared it wasn’t cooked thoroughly although it looked “fresh”. The broth was lukewarm, the noodles in the dish were the hottest part of the dish. I couldn’t finish the dish. The establishment was empty when I arrived around lunchtime. It was also very cold. The service felt rushed and towards the end I ended up paying at the counter. I would not recommend this establishment.
Great food in a humbly sized, unassuming looking restaurant. Everyone was friendly and timely providing service. Best vegan ramen I have had since moving to Seattle. Absolutely worth checking out if you’re in the area, I look forward to returning.
Samurai's downtown location is the best. Every single time I go I get that Rich porky broth with slices of pork that fall apart. I have yet to have better ramen in Seattle. Do yourself a favor and just go. Make sure to get tonkotsu ramen.
I had higher expectations. The restaurant was freezing; I wore my jacket the whole time as did many of the other diners. I found the decor lacking. It's tiny and the seats are really stools with no backs. All the tables are two-tops. The server was friendly and prompt. My dish came out quickly. I had the Tampopo Shouyu Ramen. The chicken broth was thin and not as flavorful as I would have wanted; it was also tepid. The broth was not fully seasoned. The ramen noodles were just okay. The pork slice was very lean and over-cooked. The soft-boiled egg was the only redeeming feature. If you want good ramen, go elsewhere.
Some of the best ramen I’ve had. Ordered the vegan miso mushroom ramen and it was so flavorful and the mushrooms were amazing. Got takeout while staying at a near by hotel and it was ready by the time we walked over.
