Sam's Crispy Chicken

Incompetent service and really bad food. I had a pick up order that said it was ready online but the staff said it was not ready. Ended up waiting over 30 minutes at the restaurant even though it said it was ready. I was then initially given the wrong order for a different restaurant within Umami burger. I had to go back inside and wait again. I was then given another order that was labeled with the correct receipt for my Sam's Crispy chicken order but what do you know when I checked inside the bag it was SUSHI from Kumi, another restaurant that operates out of the same space. I had to return that order while the staff looked for my order. The staff just looked confused and did not know what had happened. They were so confused they did not even take time to apologize or say sorry once. The chicken was dry, the fries looked and tasted like they were made at the beginning of the day, and they just used a sandwich carton and filled it up with mac and cheese that it was overflowing. The boxes were not sealed and there was also sauce and cheese that had spilled on the inside of the bag. I can excuse being backed up from being busy, but too many errors and really poor customer service combine with the food really made it a terrible experience.

I ordered ahead of time, and my food wasn't ready until 30 minutes after the stated time. Some people who arrived after me and ordered after me got their food before me. The food was pretty good though (the coating on the chicken was maybe the thickest and crispiest coating I've ever encountered on a piece of fried chicken, which was what I wanted). I figured the long wait was probably a fluke so I came back a week later. The order was ready on time, but they gave me the soggiest fried chicken sandwich I've had in my life, it was not crispy at all. This restaurant needs to work on consistency.

Chicken Sandwich time! Took awhile, like 40 minutes but as the guy working there told me,"real food takes time". Cool place, would have stayed but he gave me mine to go, was that a hint? Ordered the Classic and Nashville Hot, they were indeed "crispy" on the outside but moist and juicy on the inside. Both were great but the Nashville won, smokey/spicy/sweet. $8 for an artisan chicken sandwich seems fair to me. The waffle fries were good too but next time I'll skip those and get another chicken sandwich.

I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with waffle fries, my hubby had the cowboy burger with thin fries and salted peanut butter shake. The food was fresh, flavor was great and the best part was the service! Great job guy! The truffle ketchup was sooooo good too... yum.
