i'd like to give 5 stars to the manager who was running drink orders without a bartender on a saturday brunch for st. patty day parade. this was unusual considering the people traffic for st pattys day parade. it looked like there were some staff/scheduling problems. the food arrived all at once, hot, and served with care. hot chicken sandwich, turkey club and the tuna tartare were hits. my party had good experiences with their food. i would come back again.

This review exists because my husband did not receive the email from upper management as promised. Today is March 1, 2024. February 25, 2024: As usual, I returned home from vacation and went to the bar for food, drinks, and take-out. I ordered the beet salad and added salmon, cooked medium. What I received was raw salmon. I sent it back and received overcooked salmon. The Jamaican bar manager (I believe his name is Andre) took my order and witnessed both pieces of fish come out and offered to have the kitchen make a 3rd one. I was hungry, so I ate the salad and declined another piece of fish, and asked for a drink instead. He took care of that for me. He also said the drink was complimentary. The salmon would be removed from my ticket. Now, here is where the drama started. The bartender (Julian) came back from his break, and I ordered take-out for my husband. I asked for the bill and once I looked it over, the salmon was there and I simply asked why it was on the ticket since I didn't eat salmon and declined having salmon made a 3rd time. He leaned over the bar and got closer to my face and increased the level of his voice and called me by my 1st name (because i am indeed a regular) said "I gave you a free drink. Would you rather pay for the salmon which is cheaper or the more expensive drink? " I proceeded to tell him to lower his voice and that HE did not give me anything. He had not served me at all other than taking my take-out order. We went back and forth, and he accused me of trying to get free items and told me to grow up, etc. I asked the manager to please handle the situation, and he proceeded to tell Julian what happened. Julian was not happy about what he heard and proceeded to scold the manager, and then he spoke ill of me to another co-worker in front of myself and other patrons. The entire scene he made was embarrassing and unprofessional. In my experience, Julian has been an emotionally unstable bartender. His attitude is very unpredictable, and he can be seen ignoring people until he feels like getting to them. He needs to get help in order to regulate and stabilize his moods since he insists on working in the service industry. Some days, he is cool, and other days, he seems to be dealing with the ups and downs of life in real time. We all deal with crap sometimes, but this is no way to act on your service jobs.

I can only speak on the lunch salad bar but it is AMAZING. Everything is always really fresh, the bread is soooooo good. Allison (the pastry chef) makes the BEST desserts (the waffle bread pudding is DEEELISH). Service is always good and the gentleman that mixes the salads and does the proteins is always super nice. I have put a lot of my coworkers on to this place and it's definitely my favorite lunch spot in the city.

Bartenders made a good drink, excellent selection of whiskey and gin... Had breakfast there too, was a nice southern breakfast, grits and biscuit!

Dined at Saltwood twice over Thanksgiving. The bartender was properly versed, resulting in well made cocktails. Lots of hits: the Korean wings, the summer salad, and the Monte Cristo. As well as some misses: the crab cake with Cajun hollandaise and the deviled eggs. Views of midtown were beautiful. Would definitely consider visiting again.

Service was slower than expected but once we were tended to the waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Nicer experience than some restaurant bars but far from the best. Would return to the bar and lounge, just not the hotel for reasons I've posted previously. Oh, all the valet staff was great! Good communication, conversation and assistance the entire time. Vegetarian options: Since the menu online differed from the menu provided I'm not certain how Veg-friendly this place is.
