Excellent restaurant - service impeccable Très bonne cuisine - très bon accueil
Had an amazing experience at this Indian restaurant! The ambiance was warm, and the food, from the crispy Samosas to the creamy Butter Chicken and aromatic Lamb Biryani, was absolutely delicious. Every dish was rich in flavors, truly showcasing the best of Indian cuisine. The service was top-notch too. Highly recommend it for an authentic taste journey!
Very disappointing especially given other reviews. Mediocre food. Unfriendly service.
Food is great but not great enough to make up for incredibly rude staff.
The food was very tasty with a calm atmosphere and great service
I ate here last night with my sister. When we walked in, we were the only customers. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, as well as the eggplant dish. The entire time of us dining, no other customers came in. After dinner we started to feel sick on our walk back to our hotel. Then both of us started throwing up and it lasted all night into the next day, it ruined our plans for the following day. It was obviously food poisoning so I called the restaurant to explain what happened, and to make sure they get to the root problem so no other customers get sick. The man I spoke with said “we’ll make it up to you next time you come in”. Completely ignoring my concern of not wanting others to become ill. He then said they were “packed full” yesterday evening at the time we were there, and haven’t received any other complaints. We were there again for about 1.5 hours with no sign of anyone else dining.. he refused to comp us for the meal. I do not recommend eating here. Food poisoning is awful and we still are not 100% back to normal.
Very disorganised and very mean with portion sizes it’s a real shame as food is quite good staff are very nice but manager useless (fyaa is name of manager)
My Christmas Day dining at Salaam Namaste didn’t quite live up to expectations, particularly in light of other positive reviews. Here are some areas where it fell short: • The starters included some gristle, which was a bit off-putting. We chose not to try a replacement. • The portions were a bit smaller than anticipated for two people, and there was a slight mix-up with the rice, but it wasn’t a major issue. • The Christmas pudding and coconut ice cream (which tasted similar to vanilla) were not as impressive as hoped. • There were minor service delays, like waiting for plates and spoons for our pudding, but these were resolved fairly quickly. The staff were quite friendly, though the standard 12% service charge seemed a tad high given the overall experience. The non-acceptance of American Express was a minor inconvenience, considering the location. The experience didn’t quite match the enthusiastic reviews I’d read, leaving a bit of a gap between expectation and reality. While not awful, the meal and overall experience, especially considering the £155 cost, didn’t quite capture the festive spirit I had anticipated. It was an alright experience, but not as memorable as I had hoped for a Christmas celebration.
Comfortable lndian restaurant that has an extensive fih, meat and vegetarian selection that would suit most palates. Unfortunately for me one of my choices Idli Sambar isn't available on a Sunday evening and my other portobello mushroom wasn't as exotic as the menu led me to believe. The stuffing wasn't particularly nutty and the paneer seemed to be buried under it. It seemed undersized and underdressed. My neighbours fish was announced as 4 stars. We all seemed to have ordered Black lentils with rice and those were very pleasant. The service was very good. Prices ok for just off main drag of West end in Holborn but l prefer south lndian street food. The toilets downstairs need a bit of an upgrade. Did not see a disabled one upstairs. Wheelchair accessibility: You'd need to phone ahead as space it right between the tables. Not at all sure about disabled toilet.
