The food is fantastic. I had a grilled chicken Sriracha sandwich. It wasn't too spicy and it was fantastic, fresh. I also had a slice of vegetarian quiche and it was the best quiche I've ever had!! If you're going during a peak time, prepare to wait and you're not going to be able to sit. There are some long benches and a few tables inside.. they need to get double the amount of stools to be able to seat people appropriately!! If it's a nice day you can sit outside, but if it's in the middle of winter you better go off peak hours.. But you will get great food Parking: There's a parking lot outside the square.. but if it's a peak time, there's too many people with too much money so you're competing with everyone else
I have been a loyal customer of the several locations in Marin, but last Wednesday I received the worst service ever at the Larkspur Landing Cafe. I ordered a bowl of soup to go. I received my order, and when I went to the car, whoever put the order together didn't close the lid properly. The soup was so hot, it was raining, the paper bag didn't help either, and the scalding soup went on my lap. It burnt my leg, and although it was painful, I was relieved I didn't hand it to kid that was in the car with me otherwise it would have been worst if my child got burnt with the hot soup. I couldn't do anything because I had jeans, and the soup was everywhere, it was horrible and it left a red burn on my leg. I called the cafe, and told them to be careful, they need to be prepared to hand off hot prepared food, the markets, they put a tape to secure the lids. I explained this to the man on the phone, he said he would be refunding me my money, and to have a nice day. Really? I just told him I burnt my leg with the soup, and he is repeating some verbatim, have a nice day?All my clothes got soiled, and the worst was the car, thick soup every where. It needs to go for detailing. I left a message with the corporate website, and the response I got? Do you want to subscribe for news?
Went here later afternoon on a week day and they were pretty much cleared out of every fresh baked good... but I managed to snag a slice of their carrot cake loaf and it was divine. They are famous for their crackers (which are delightful), but I would guess based on that slice that everything is good so I hope to come back again when they have more in stock! Located inside the Marin Country Mart (with ample parking and restrooms).
