Ruins

Server was weeded when we arrived so service was slow - would have easily forgiven this because we get it, but the place cleared out soon after and we were the only table there and service didn’t improve. Food was really bad. Most of it arrived to the table cold We had to hunt for our server only to find her straight up chilling at the bar. We ordered guac/chips and elotes about 20 min before entrees and the apps came out after mains hit the table. My friend never got her drink. The only redeeming quality was the Michelada. They make their own mix and it was fantastic.

I've been going to Ruins for several years. Each time I go back I'm disappointed that some of our favorites things have been eliminated from the menu. Colitas de pavo, papas with Mole sauce, arroz con nopalitos, torta de milanesa.... please bring these things back. I don't even think I saw the chapulines on the Menu last night.

If you like Old Fashions try the Smokey Mirror... It's a mezcal Ruins patented version that will have you hooked. And the goat soup and Birria Tacos will have you going loco.

One of the few places that focuses on mezcal, but it has its flaws. They have an extensive menu of mezcals, but most were not currently available. They need to have an updated menu. The sangrita wasn't great and the chapulines tasted old and stale. If they fixed those things, I'd give it at least 4 stars
