Ruby’s New York Style Bagels

Bagels were good. Crispy on the bottom and a decent size. Good dose of cream cheese. Very slow service. Wasn’t crowded and took 10 mins to get a bagel with plain cream cheese. Nice decor but music was so loud you couldn’t hear your name being called.

This place is fantastic. The sandwiches are delicious, the latte I had was one of the best I’ve had in Charleston, and the people working were thoughtful and very welcoming. Highly recommend.

My mom and I went here for the first time today, we are originally from New York and missing our bagels like crazy. Begonia was so kind to us and gave us great recommendations. Wide selection of absolutely amazing bagels!! Customer service and quality are top tier. If you’re looking for a New York bagel this is the spot!!!

I’ve had good bagels before & Ruby’s is top tier. Starting with the service- they are patient, kind, and gave me good recommendations. I get the turkey bacon egg and cheese and it’s amazing every time. They put me on to the strawberry jam and it’s amazing- I never liked strawberry jam if it counts for anything. Ruby's has become my fave breakfast spot- they even remembered my name :).

The bagels never disappoint, honestly the best bagel I’ve had south of New Jersey and the staff was friendly. Our food came out fast and was delicious.

My work gets Ruby's about once a week. Big fans We missed one bagel sandwich once and I was sent back because it was the end of the world, but they haven't made a mistake since that one time. Which is impressive bc we have large orders. 10/10

I really like the bagels at Ruby’s, the food is great, but our experience there this morning was so bad we couldn’t stop laughing about it all day. The staff is very cheerful and friendly, but seemed to be kind of inept this morning! We ordered two bagel sandwiches—the nova lox and egg salad, plus a cup of green tea and a mocha. Service is a little slow—this is the second time we’ve eaten there, and it was somewhat slow both times, but not outrageous. When they called us for our order, the mocha was iced, not hot, so my partner asked for a replacement. The sandwiches were just toasted bagels, one with egg salad, but no lettuce or tomato, and one with cream cheese and lox, but no onion, tomato or capers. We decided the egg salad was fine, but asked for a replacement for the lox. After a couple of minutes, I decided it was fine, I would eat the bagel with the lox and cream cheese, and I went to the counter to tell them not to make a replacement, but they already had, so I took it back to my table, where I discovered a toasted bagel with only lox, and no cream cheese or anything else! At this point I could only laugh. It was fine for what it was, and I should mention that my green tea was perfect.

Consistently have had my order be wrong at this specific location. Mount Pleasant service is great. Can’t say the same for West Ashley. For the fourth time now, our pick up order was completely wrong. My boyfriend called the store for resolution and they hung up on him. He called back again and was hung up on immediately. Poor customer service. Will no longer be returning to this location. Update: boyfriend went to store for resolution and employee named Nathan told him to “get the F out.” Multiple witnesses to this!

I was here with some friends not too long ago. The bagel was hot and delicious, and so was the coffee. This establishment is clean, the employees are friendly, and the food was great. If the consistency continues, I’m sure this place will not only be successful, but will last a very long time.
