Rubio's Coastal Grill

Rubio's was a spur of the moment lunch decision and it turned out great. Inexpensive and super tasty! If you don't need a sit down meal with a waiter check it out. I would go back again and again.

I used to work here when Diana was here years ago. At first she was really nice. When I was learning the register I said something when it was busy like “oh ok thank you I think I get it now”. I was busy so I wasn’t checking exactly how I may have said it, but I was very grateful she was helping I thought she doesn’t need to worry about me anymore bc she’s busy and it’s probably annoying for her to keep helping me. I said that to be nice. She took it the wrong way (super sensitive and blew what I said wayyy out of proportion I wanted just peace where I worked), and she got everyone to hate me. Even though i was shy and a really nice person. I would never hate or be standoffish to someone just because they were busy and maybe sounded busy. I in no way had bad intentions and even though I tried to be friendly to her the staff and the guy manager (he was a white Latino guy), they were very standoffish and mean. Sometimes I felt like crying. Then the manager would complain about things like me not smiling enough to customers. It was a very hard environment to be in bc one second im laughing with ppl and the next second people are fake smiling at me but don’t want to talk to me… idk if this is bullying but i never meant to be mean and I wish some people would take into consideration that I’m their feelings aren’t always a correct portrayal of a person, esp if you don’t confront them and just assume everything. The supervisor guy whom I saw working at another rubios in pacific beach near the 5, im pretty sure was stealing for the register. I worked as a cashier at multiple places and the most I had messed up before was -5 cents and +24 cents. For a few days in a row I had like -$10 and -$20. They were definitely stealing from me… if you have a student that is sometimes misunderstood or shy or sensitive to not being understood I highly recommend you don’t work for this company bc they have already proven who they are.

burrito was cold AND cheese was not melted

Strange. The steak in the California Burrito with USDA grilled steak tastes like chicken. Oh wait, it is chicken! Discovered when I got home with the take-out order. Sort of ruins the meal.

Omar has poor customer service skills left my food sitting for over 15 minutes while I was waiting at the tables next to the counter. Poor form
