Rubio's Coastal Grill

I work near here (when I have to go in to the office) and like this place a lot for a late lunch. The food is better than any of the other options in this strip mall. I recommend any of the 2 taco specials under $10. Almost more than I need for a lunch - consider scaling to a 1 taco deal if available. I appreciate that you can grab the bottle of hot sauce if you prefer instead of fussing with those little containers. The restaurant itself is open and comfortable. I find it relaxing. Employees are all friendly. This will probably be my regular hang out for lunch nearby. Parking: No issues.

Seems like no tip= no customization. Disappointing I wasted $12 on my lunch and my mouth was on fire and I was eating things I don’t like.

Gourmet Tacos

I ordered a mix match taco plate .. a gourmet taco and a simple fish taco with rice. My rice was mushy and didn't have good flavor,just tasted like tomato sauce. The tacos were very cold. I asked for light sauce and it looked smothered. The worst part was the actual fish, was small and looked like it had been there sitting in the warmer for a long time.. FISH is to be made per order.

I've been to many Rubios restaurants like Redlands CA , Temecula,hacienda Hights, Downey, Santa Barbara ,Irvine etc, etc And this Rubios here what I think is the City of Clairmont has the worst Steak tacos ever plus cold , sad but true C A U T I O N!

Rubios is LEGIT my new favorite spot in all of San Diego!!! I came in, never been & everyone welcomed me with smiles and a vibe like we've known each other all of our lives. They also hooked me up with a cookie!! "Cookie for the rookie!!" Will be coming back, forever
