I got this for delivery. It may be the worst Mapo Tofu I've ever had. The only part that resembles the dish is that it has tofu. Someone put chicken stock, celery and onions with tofu and called it Mapo. There is zero of the funky bean flavor or mala spice. The only reason I ate it is because I won't waste food. I covered it with Szechuan chili oil and it was still barely palatable.
I have to say Royal East was the best Chinese restaurant I ate from while staying at boston. The PuPu Platter was great and the boneless ribs tasted awesome maybe because of the honey. Everything else I ordered was great even the shrimp with eggplant.. Vegetarian options: Shrimp eggplant
Delicious Nasi lemak. Look forward to trying other dishes.
I first started coming here with my family early 2000's and the place was packed, front and back. All the food, especially the beef with oyster sauce was impeccable. The owner was walking around greeting people with a huge smile, all were laughing, everyone was having a wonderful time! When i returned maybe a year or two later the mood was somber, the ambiance was gone and the food was atrocious. I called the waiter over and inquired.."what happened?" he replied two words "New Owner"
Amazing pineapple fried rice. Roti Kanai is a must try with the Malaysian curry. Would also recommend the crispy samosas. Overall, delicious food, hospitable staff and great ambience. Nice place in Cambridge to go in larger groups like 8-10 people.
Food is tolerant, service is intolerant. Also quite pricy regardless its horrible quality.
Food was fantastic! The owner went out of his way to take care of us!
Always cooked fresh veggies and delicious meals to eat in or take out e9very time I order!!
