Royal China Restaurant

Was there during Chinese New Year, and it was crowded. My friend made a mistake on not making reservation prior so thats on him. Service was OK. I understand the current inflation and all but charging high 2 digits for a small pot of tea is ridiculous. The food was mediocre at best you pay for the name (My friend is non asian so his taste bud is not the same as mine). This is exactly why I stopped eating out unless it's a special occasion.

Authentic Chinese food at a family run spot, this place is always packed and is the only place we'll go for Chinese. I lived in China for three years, so I have some different standards for Chinese food. And I love Royal's China's food- their scallion pancake is just like the street ones in Beijing, the xiao long bao is juicy and delicious, and the green beans are almost the closest thing you'll find to authentic gan bian si ji dou. I'm so glad I've got Royal China in my neighbor, their food is the bomb.

I ordered my lunch to go at the register. Friendly staff and it's beautiful inside. My only problem is that I ordered spicy chicken fried rice, but I ended up getting regular chicken fried rice. There is absolutely nothing spicy in my food. Now that I'm already back at home in Mesquite, I had to use the Frank's Red Hot Sauce and put a bunch on my plate. It's ok, but not the same as when they use the peppers. If it had been made correctly, I probably would have marked 4 or maybe 5.

One of our favorite places for family-style Chinese food. Emphasis on family-style because the main dishes are sizable. The soup dumplings were good and didnt tear. Loved the crab rangoons. On our most recent trip, I tried the Jiang Bing, a folded, herb and crunchy stuffed ,crepe-like pocket of deliciousness. Probably my new favorite item. Also got the generals chicken and the crispy red snapper. Preferred the chicken as the fish tasted a bit muddy which I thought unlike snapper. The pork belly bao were alright but too thick and not rendered enough. The service was great. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Will keep coming back

This place is always packed. Good is really good and service is excellent as well. It's s must of you in the area but reserve table ahead of time.
