Chicken was amazing but the service wasn’t matching the deliciousness of that food.
One of the best fried chicken sandwiches in Chicago. Have it with egg on a biscuit
Tried this place for the first time yesterday and unfortunately we were disappointed. The chicken we ordered tasted as of it was cooked in old grease. It did not taste well and obviously was not cooked with day of ingredients. Considering the prices here it is definitely is not worth a second try.
OMG, y’all. I wanted to give to 5 stars sooo bad, but my purse said NO. I paid $30 for what you see pictured. I could not say no to my taste buds. I really wanted one and everything but I settled for this. I swear I felt like I was back home and NC, and was the Carolina meal without some Cheerwine? Not nothing! So let’s get to it. Sunrise Chicken Sandwich: What’s the Carolina meal without some swine? NOTHING! lol. So I got this sandwich on the biscuit of course and I chose the original heat level and then I got a side of hot honey sauce and dipped the sandwich. (Yes, I’m a dipper.) Perfection. The chicken was crispy and juicy. Which was a total surprise to me because I do not like chicken breast because they’re usually dry but this one…juicy. I’m also a biscuit kind of store so I’m in love. I’m in love with the biscuit. They sell their biscuits frozen and you can bake them at home. I almost got it, but I would’ve been doing too much. Cheerwine: I know y’all are probably like what is this? Just imagine if Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke had a baby. That’s the best way I can describe it. Mac & Cheese: I got the mac & cheese because I saw it was a popular item. It wasn’t my favorite. It was creamy mac & cheese but it seem to be a water down creamy mac & cheese. It wasn’t for me, but I did eat it and I did finish it. I ended up crumbling the bacon that fell off my chicken sandwich and putting it on top of the Mac. Peach Cobbler: I’ma be honest, when I saw this I was super excited because it looks exactly like the peach cobbler that my family and I make. And when I tell you, it tasted like it too. I’m in love. I’m literally in love and I’m so happy that somebody has brought this type of peach cobbler to Chicago. Usually you see the peach cobbler with the pie crust (which I appreciate), but this peach cobbler right here! This style of peach cobbler is my first love and I fell in love all over again. Another thing that I must mention is that the food traveled well. So I probably stay a good 10 to 15 minutes from this location. Surprisingly I did not eat in the car. I actually waited till I got home and everything was still a good temperature and delicious.
I found this gem quite by accident. The soul food style Menu is quite extensive and has a lot of Items and meals you don't see anymore. The food is delicious and taste like it came out of someone's grandmother's Southern kitchen. You really gotta check display out. The prices are very reasonable for what you get.
This menu is great. You can get your fried chicken pretty much any way you please.
Really juicy chicken, perfect level of spice, great customer service!
Very very very good, the Nashville hot spice level I would say isn’t that hot so definitely try it. The hot honey sauce is great . Will definitely be back to try the bowl.
