Cramped space (no surprise), they've tried using some nicer furniture rather than just folding chairs. Great service & music (and that's the most important part!) Really good jam session (and organized even!)
I am a harlem resident for 20+ years and tickets for an event were advertised on eventbrite that was supposed to be at Room 623 YES, this speakeasy, but instead, it was hosted upstairs at Brunch Harlem, claiming you booked another event at the speakeasy (I detect a gimmick). This was not the experience or atmosphere expected. To say the least, I was thoroughly disappointed, annoyed and felt deceived and really wanted a full refund. The vocalist, was good, but the food especially the vegetarian option was not(Mediterranean cous cous) as a matter of fact it was horrible, and then to add injury to insult they had the audacity to be extremely skimpy on the sub par dessert with a paper thin slice of nasty carrot cake. This was a bait and switch tactic used to get people to come to an event at a desired venue and then host it at your affiliated venue. Using the name Room 623! There was no mention of this supposed mistake which leads me to believe it was intentional, and your establishment did not even try to make anything amends. I DO try to come out to support local artists/businesses, but you really need to do better this is UNACCEPTABLE and very a deceptive way get patronage.
