I swung by this place for some takeout. The kaisendon was on point, no doubt. Fresh sashimi that hit the spot. But their suggestion to mix the halibut bone broth with rice after the sashimi didn't really do it for me. It was meh. The set maki was a huge disappointment. It tasted like grocery store sushi. Not what I expected from a place hyping itself as top-notch. Also, they packed in these little packets of low quality ginger and wasabi. For a joint that claims to be a "premier destination", I was expecting the real deal, not something I could pick up with grocery store-bought sushi.
My boyfriend and I had a phenomenal experience at ROL on 3/16! Our server Daniel was an absolute gem and he turned the experience from a 5/5 to a 10/5 stars. It was our first time and he explained everything with such enthusiasm and took great care of us. The rolls were freshly made and delicious- would highly recommend to everyone :)
I love Rol. This is an excellent hand roll bar and I will regularly drive 30-40 minutes to get some with a friend or with family. It's most ideal for small groups for sure, so come with a buddy or date. The quality of service and food is always high here. I have visited multiple times over the last year and have not had a bad experience. Usually there is plenty of parking and the wait isn't too bad. Other great restaurants by Kei Concepts are also nearby.
Great hand rolls, food and service! These are the kinds of rolls where the seaweed is toasted and then quickly prepared one by one and served to you. They have some easy pre-set menu combos that have a variety of hand rolls which makes it easy if you want to try different hand rolls. I went here specifically for the rolls but on the menu they also had Kaisendon which is a bowl with different fish proteins (salmon, shrimp, scallop, imitation crab, roe and more), cucumber, seaweed and rice. You eat it but leave some in the bowl before finishing it and they add a broth to it so it becomes like a soup. It's like having two meals in one and it's so good! It was a much bigger bowl of food than I had anticipated so I would recommend sharing this or only ordering an extra roll or two if you're super hungry. It's a really good value for the quality, variety and amount of food you get. The service was also great. You can add yourself to the wait-list on the yelp app and while the estimate was off at the beginning it wasn't too long of a wait. The person making our food was super nice and I felt like they had great timing for bringing out the food. The server was also so sweet. She gave good recommendations and even offered us some soda to go. Overall, I think this place is great for quality, service and variety. You can order some foods on the lighter side like rolls or get a full, satisfying meal in the items like the Kaisendon. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
The food was great! It was definitely an experience watching the hand rolls made in front of you and personally put on your plate one at a time.
We got the big shareable box, and all the rolls were delicious! I loved the scallop and toro the most! I also appreciate that it came with the yuzu dipping sauce. Ordering online was very easy, and our order was ready when we arrived as promised. Would definitely return.
Very great, fresh ingredients. The meal was amazing
