Saturday for lunch: We had the oxtail stew, cabbage, Mac & cheese, red beans and rice, jerk chicken, and jerk chicken eggrolls, and plantains! Hands down the best of it all was the jerk chicken followed closely by the oxtail stew. There were only 2 dishes we didn't enjoy. The cabbage tasted a little dirty and the plantains came out cold and didn't really taste like what we were expecting. Would we go here again ,yes! We actually came back the next day to get some oxtail and jerk chicken for the road. The atmosphere: music playing at a reasonable tone and multiple tvs for your viewing pleasure. At the time only a few guest were inside so it wasn't to crowded. It was clean and honestly looks like they scaled up a bit.

Stop in for a birthday dinner and normally Rodney’s is the go-to spot…but tonight the food was not good at all. The only thing we enjoyed were the jerk eggrolls. Not to mention our drinks were not mixed well, tasted like she threw the whole bottle in the glass. Spent over $100 for the food and drinks to be terrible.

This restaurant was suggested from La Quinta by Wyndham’s list of places to eat. I did not expect it to be fine dining atmosphere when we entered. The inside is beautiful with white linen tables and wine glasses. Servers were dressed nicely. We ordered the oxtail, fried chicken and crab curry dinner meals. The presentation was nice. We each sampled each others food. All tasted amazing. My children can be picky eaters and they gave this place a thumbs up. Our server, Damien, was so polite and always checked on us. He gave status of when our food will be ready, etc. He knew the menu and made suggestions. We are visiting from California. If we ever come back, we would come to eat here again.

One of the most disappointing things is when you want to support a business, but they make every effort not to receive or deserve that support. We ordered food online from Rodney’s, and when we went to pick it up an hour later, and 15 mins after the order was meant to be ready, it wasn't. I sat in the restaurant for another 30 minutes (it was quite busy inside) and then after I asked for the status, one of the ladies told me the order had been canceled by the customer. Of course, that wasn't true I was sitting there, after I pushed back the real story was that the chef decided he wasn't filling the order as it was too busy in the restaurant. The question is, why take the order if you were that busy? Why make me wait and then cancel the order without telling me? There was no “Sorry for your wait”, or “Let’s give you this for your inconvenience”, just a shrug of the shoulder and a look of “Oh well”. Rodney’s actually has good food. But I just don't see how I would ever support this restaurant or recommend it to the many people I know, after such an experience. Black businesses cannot afford to be so lax and weak with customer service, and this was a prime example of how not to do business. Too bad.

Giving this place one star is being generous. I ordered an eschovitch fish and paid $32 plus tip for take-out. When I got home and opened the bag I immediately knew the food was going to be trash. The fish was soggy with a bunch of brown overcooked onions on top. Not one piece of scotch bonnet. Eschovitch is supposed to be fried and spicy with slices of onions, carrots, scotch bonnet pepper with a hint of vinegar. This fish was soggy and flavorless!! No seasoning at all, not even salt. I could have delt with the flavorless fish but I couldn't even eat the darn thing because of all the scales that were left on the fish. After working all day, I just wanted to come home and not have to cook. I usually don't leave reviews but I'm pissed after wasting 32 bucks and I still had to cook dinner because the food was inedible. Note to the cook, you can't serve fish with scales on it and don't call it eschovitch when it's not. The rice and peas had a good flavor but it was overcooked. If I didn't have teeth the mushy rice could have worked, I guess. Now I know why all the seats in the restaurant were empty.
