Everything about this place is good except the small drink cups to go

This is like disgusting, it's not just grease and unless you pay upfront the bill is always higher when you leave. They think you're not looking and then make you feel bad for knowing how to do math. Both, both of these places need to just get the right idea and see ... no one's there for a reason. I liked it as a place to go, but now I'm done giving these carper baggers a chance anymore. It just means more expensive food and zero fun/friends.

This review is strictly on the ribs and brisket. I had been trying to put this negative review off but now it's time. Over the course of 2023-24 I ate at this location 8 or more times. I also ate at the downtown location 8 times. (It's now been moved to Trussville) The difference in locations is astounding. Both were consistent in quality or lack of quality where the Homewood location lacked quality. Over the 8 times I ate ribs or brisket at the homewood location, the offerings were consistent in being incredibly dry and disappointing. In contrast, the 8 times at the downtown location, the ribs or brisket were incredibly moist, fresh, and flavorful. I am not sure why the difference was so significant and consistently so, but I guess I am tired of being disappointed and will finally accept the difference and not order ribs or brisket at the Homewood location. If I hadn't experienced what the downtown location consistently put out then I probably wouldn't care, but then I wouldn't have an expectation of Rodney Scott BBQ. Now that I do, the Homewood location isn't it, and I am not talking inches but miles. Recommended fix... Invite the pit masters over from the downtown location, wherever they went, and ask them to try the BBQ you put out over a few months periodically. Then, beg them to help you fix it.

First time eating there, in Bham for a concert and wanted to try their bbq. Caught the wings on happy hour and they are the best smoked wings I've ever had! Literally looking for any reason to go back to Birmingham to get more of those delicious wings!
