Ordered through UberEats, don’t know why the reviews are inflated. The butter chicken curry wasn’t strained and it was too sweet with no kick of spices. Classic mistake, haven’t found over 3/5 butter chicken in Ottawa yet. The naan was also to hard my teeth hurt after. The sauce wasn’t velvety and rich.
Following a delightful weekend in Quebec City, we embarked on our journey homeward and serendipitously stumbled upon 'Roast and Curry', our palates yearning for authentic Indian/Punjabi cuisine. It swiftly became evident that this restaurant was a culinary gem. The food was exquisitely flavourful, accompanied by impeccably fresh tandoori naans, and complemented by affable service. Without hesitation, we anticipate revisiting upon any future sojourns to Ottawa. Vegetarian options: They have good vegetarian options
The worst meal I’ve ever had, not recommended at all.
The food was absolutely disgusting, no flavour at all. Lack of salt, pepper and chilli. We asked for extra spicy flavour, but they were out of chilli he informed. Not recommended, better go to to some other takeout place or subway.
Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good but could have been spicier, but regardless, it was good. I took a star out, as we were a group, and they included gratuity but was not told when paying as they did not hand us the receipt immediately, so I gave extra tips. When I went to inquire after receiving the bill, I was told in Ontario that they automatically include tips of 18% over a group of 5+, but upon calculations, they actually charged 20% tips. They did apologize and wanted to give back the balance, but I declined. It would have been just better customer service wise to advise us while ringing up the bill, and the tips charged were much higher than what the law requires. (We are from another province, and we don't have this system, thank goodness) I will definitely go again, but I learned my lesson to always carefully check the receipts before paying. We ordered Matar paneer, chicken curry along with butter naan. Being a north Indian and this being our staple diet, we found the curries a little on the sweeter side. The gravy in chicken and Matar paneer tasted almost the same. Must say the Butter Naan were amazing and helped alot with overall food taste. Service was excellent and the guy serving us was prompt and ran the show very well.
I wanted to try real Indian cuisine for so long. I ordered butter chicken and it was amazing. Could be more spicy though. Chicken beriany was also good.
If you, like me, usually opt for butter chicken or tikka masala at Indian restaurants, do yourself a favour and give the lamb korma a try!! Mild spice, tender meat, creamy sauce - a fantastic, comforting, satisfying meal :) The veggie samosa was large with a delicious sauce, and the garlic naan is massive and chewy. Large plates, good variety, and great prices!
I ordered butter chicken platter and garlic naan and mango lassi. I found the taste to be okay-ish. Not too good, not too bad.
