RiverGrille on the Tomoka

First visit a few years ago was good enough that we returned this year. Unfortunately a completely different experience this time. While the broiled and blackened shrimp and fish entrees were good and fresh, the jambalaya was just awful (very tough chicken was the primary protein, and the rest was mushy and just off). Asiago crab dip was just okay — artichoke chunks were the main event in that, and very little crab (or just overpowered). The worst element of the evening was the service: we were greeted promptly and drinks service started right away, but things fell apart after that. One person’s entree (mine) did not come out with the rest and we were told it had been deleted from the system so they were working on it now. A good 15 minutes later it came out.. everyone else was done eating. No offer to discount or comp that item?? Once the food came out the visits to the table stopped: water glasses were never filled, we had to find someone to get our check brought, etc. Will not return. It’s a shame .. location and ambience are great. UPDATE: I have since spoken to the manager who reached out about our experience. He was most apologetic and wanted to get the bottom of the missteps in our visit, and graciously offered a gift card to encourage us to try again, which we hope to do soon! Will post here again afterwards.

I was not impressed by the food at all. I had a "large" house salad and added blackened chicken. The salad was very small, and the chicken was cold and chewy. I will never go back!

The food was very good and came out fast not sure if the waitress was new or not but I would recommend she writes down people's orders

Wow what a hidden little gem. Nestled on the Tomoka River, this place is amazing to have dinner outside during sunset. Good informal laid back casual spot serving American and seafood. Food is good, service is good and the setting is great. If you are looking back for a laid back spot to have dinner over sunset then this is the spot. Highly recommend.

I would give a zero if it was an option! We were seated inside as there was a wait for outside. We sat for 15 minutes before walking out as no one ever came to our table. This was while we watched servers wait on two other tables which were sat after us! Very poor management or lack of management!
