The food was great with previous management. I stopped there today, and the place was completely gone. Was such a good convenient spot, too. Sad unless they moved!
Si quieres comer buena comida puertorriqueña, con autentico sabor , estas en el sitio adecuado. El restaurant es muy bonito y atienden con excelencia.
Rice & Beans Cocina Latina Rating: 3/5 I had the chance to dine at Rice & Beans Cocina Latina before it transformed into Tradicion Latina. The restaurant had its charm, and the name itself evoked images of flavorful Latin American cuisine. However, my recent visit left me with mixed feelings. The Good: Friendly Staff: The person attending to us was warm and welcoming. Their friendly demeanor added a positive touch to the dining experience. Cuban Classics: Rice & Beans Cocina Latina used to serve classic Latin dishes like arroz con pollo, tostones, and empanadas. These were generally well-prepared and satisfying. The Not-So-Good: Dry Food: Unfortunately, the food often appeared dry. Whether it was the rice or the meats, there was a lack of moisture that affected the overall taste. Salty Pulled Pork: The pulled pork, a staple in many Latin dishes, was on the salty side. It left me reaching for my water glass more than I’d like. Lack of Spark: The restaurant seemed to have lost its spark. Perhaps it was the transition to Tradicion Latina, but the vibrancy and excitement were missing. Concerns: High Salt Content: You’re right; many Hispanic dishes tend to be salty. While this adds flavor, it can indeed contribute to high blood pressure. Moderation is key. Diminished Foot Traffic: On a Friday night, the place felt eerily quiet. The unlit sign outside didn’t help matters. I worry that the new owners might struggle to revive the restaurant’s former glory. In summary, looking for a wonderful experience, Tradicion Latina came a bit short. If they can strike the right balance between flavor and ambiance, they might just win over the neighborhood .
Unbelievable food and the staff is always extremely kind and helpful!!
As someone who has never been here before, my experience here was awesome. From the moment I walked in the staff was warm and welcoming with smiles. I’m not familiar with this type of cuisine, so I needed a little help. Staff went above and beyond to help me order the perfect meal. I tried the mofongo and pork belly and it’s to die for. The chef came out to speak with a costumer and he was also super friendly and welcoming. Overall excellent experience. Thank you for being so welcoming to newbs :) I wish I lived closer, so when I’m traveling through again I’ll definitely be back.
After having been a loyal customer for 10+ years, I was extremely disappointed to learn they are under new ownership and have changed their Tuesday special (2 meals for $16) to having a cut-off at 3pm with no explanation. Seeing that a vast majority of people are not out of work by then, it's a shame the new ownership is not honoring a long-time tradition. The quality of the food also seems to have changed. The rice looks quite dry, and some of their normal menu items were not there anymore. Overall, I am very disappointed after heading in today. Hoping new leadership will bring back what they took away soon.
Love it here. Food is more than enough, attention is great from the moment you step foot inside. I highly recommend the roasted Cuban pork shoulder, the Cuban tamales and the gandules rice. Also the breaded chicken breast is a must in Rice and beans. Finish up with a Cuban cortadito ☕️ and you’ll be all set for the day.
