We had never been to revel. Decided to go for their Valentine’s Day tasting menu with my wife. It was a very underwhelming experience. Beginning with the atmosphere. We were sat by the entrance where each time the door opened we were blasted with cold air. Did not aid the ambience of the evening. The chairs were all wobbly and the fabric of my seat was noticeably torn. Our server was kind enough, but lacked any attention to detail. We were served appetizers but did not get plates, an “intermezzo” course of sorbet with no spoons, a steak with no steak knife, etc. at each stage we had to wait several minutes. At the end of the meal she went MIA for about 15 minutes as we waited to get the check. The food was forgettable. Strawberry bruschetta was fine. Our lobster tail appetizer was about 4oz of lobster sitting in a soup bowl full of butter. The main courses were the redeeming factor. My steak was undercooked, but not raw. It was flavorful and tender. The scallops and pasta were well seasoned. Our dessert was a shared chocolate cake. It was good, but not noteworthy. Based on the lack of attention to detail, mediocre food, and disappointing atmosphere, the price tag of $110/plate was borderline criminal. We will likely not return. There are better options all over Pittsburgh.

So I be been coming here for YEARS every time I’m in Pittsburgh & the restaurant just isn’t the same. None of the servers look like they want to be there my food was late & not even what I order but it was fine I still ate it just bc my served looked flustered and spread thin. The desserts tasted like they came out the freezer. I’ve met the pastry chef a few times I’ve been here her work was amazing but what I had definitely tasted like something out the freezer Vs homemade . Idek who the new chef is but when the tall bald white girl was the chef theatmosphere of the restaurant was phenomenal!! It was so welcoming coming in and the servers looked like they actually wanted to work. I’m actually very disappointed about my trip this time :( maybe I’ll check it out next time I’m in town and see if approved

I was in town for Monster Jam and we had complementary breakfast at Revel with our hotel stay at Hilton Garden Inn. My kiddos like the Belgian Waffles and I couldn't get enough of the Vegan Power Bowl. Very yummy! Only downfall, one of the waitresses was really pressing for a tip, which made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable. She was sweet, but she keep pressing about a tip. And it wasn't just me, it with another table that was next to me as well. So that customer left and came back to give her a tip. And I could tell they were uncomfortable as well or felt forced. I get it, it's hard out here. But please don't make your customers uncomfortable. We are here to have a good time, enjoy good food and atmosphere.

My friend and I had tickets to a comedy show in Pittsburgh tonight and decided to try Revel for dinner beforehand for the first time. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite the experience we were hoping for. When we arrived and ordered drinks, they took quite a while to be delivered. I had also asked if it would be possible to request a mocktail as I was DD, but specified not something with muddled/chunky fruit if possible and that’s exactly what I was brought. Ended up asking for a Diet Coke with lime instead. I was brought the Diet Coke, but no lime. We then ordered an appetizer and entries. The wait for food was substantial, and the table beside us who arrived and ordered after we did, received their entrees while we still waited for our appetizer. This unfortunately never came and we were served just our entrees. Not a big deal. It happens. But felt sloppy and like our waitress wasn’t keeping tabs on our table or paying attention to our orders. I ordered the $49 filet mignon medium rare. When the food came out and I cut into the steak it was medium at best (erring more well on the sides). But there was no sign of our waitress to mention this to her. As we were on a time limit before our show and absolutely starving, I decided to eat some anyway, getting about 1/3 - 1/2 way through before the waitress made an appearance. At which point I politely let her know that unfortunately the steak was a bit overcooked and we hadn’t received our appetizer at all. She apologized and said she’d let the manager know. We heard nothing from this manager, so whether they were told or not I do not know. In the end, I did not finish my entree leaving a good bit of the pricy steak behind. Which our waitress took away without further comment. I did order dessert as I wasn’t quite satisfied from entree and hoped this might redeem the meal a little. The crème brûlée was alright. I truly hate complaining at restaurants. I really do, but also understand when you’re unsatisfied with a meal and don’t say anything to your waitress and give them a chance to make it right, it’s on you. I wasn’t offered any opportunities to rectify this meal in any way, which ended up being a huge disappointment. As someone who previously worked in the service industry for years, I have a lot of compassion for restaurant staff and typically a high tolerance when things go wrong if appropriate measures are taken to make things right. But when you order one of the most expensive things on the menu and it’s poorly done, I can’t let that slide. I just felt like our entire experience from start to finish was a disappointment, and wouldn’t be inclined to come back unfortunately. From an atmosphere perspective, because that’s one of the star ratings on here, we felt the restaurant was nice but could have benefitted from lowering the lights to create more of an intimate evening meal environment the felt more fitting with how their website presents the place.

I get breakfast to-go here about once a month for the past year. Every time I go to order, the waitress is kind of nasty towards me. This morning I started ordering eggs over medium, bacon, potatoes and before I could continue, she barked at me "you can't get all of that" in front of a customer eating at the bar. I told her I can get whatever I want and that I always cone here. She then apologized and completed my order which was over $19.00 and I left a $3:00 tip. I get to work and ready to dive in and no bacon. The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium as usual, the potatoes delicious and that biscuit was the best biscuit that I ever had. Too bad I didn't get my bacon but I will be back.
