Drinks tasted watered down and food wasn’t up to par. Service was slooow!

The bartender was awful! Despite sitting at the bar, it took him 20 minutes to come and take our order. Not even a glass of water! It also took him another 20 minutes to come when we asked for the check! I would not recommend it. The food and atmosphere are good, but the bartender ruined the experience.

Aleksander restaurant is excellent! The Serbian kiss cocktail with dragon fruit is amazing as is the bet toast and Brussels sprouts! The atmosphere is elegant yet approachable with fun art on the walls. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and hope to return and try more dishes!

Delicious food and drinks! Beautiful atmosphere, artwork on the walls and ambiance. We recently tried out Aleksandar Restaurant because of their participation in the Center City District Restaurant Week 2024, and we were impressed! Definitely recommend them and will be returning. We had Monika's Pierogies, Miso Squash soup, Chilean Seabass, Herford "Lamp" Chops, and 2 servings of Egg Nog Panacotta for dessert... Amazing!

We came here for restaurant week lunch. The ambience of the restaurant is one of the best we have experienced in Philly. The artwork adorning the walls is first rate. Service was attentive and fast, though not exactly welcoming. We noticed the owner of the restaurant pitching in to help seat guests and bring out dishes, which I thought admirable. My wife and I both liked our starters very much. Her salmon with trout roe and jalapeño sauce was cooked perfectly and the spice from the jalapeño enhanced the flavor without overpowering the dish. My short rib was not sufficiently drained before being plated onto the bed of polenta and was therefore sitting in small pool of water, which caused it to lose some of its flavor. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we would certainly return.

Someone recommended here because they said they had no TVs, which is true but… Probably one of the worst establishments I have had the displeasure of walking into. Came for a drink and snack during happy hour to find out that the management mistreats their staff because of a manager that is on a power trip with the employees. I felt bad for the staff after overhearing some conversations being had nearby the bar. I thought I would be able to enjoy a non-tense evening after work on a friday, but I walked out more stressed regardless of the ambiance in the area of Rittenhouse. It’s really hard to enjoy your space, food and drink with noticeable tension. The employees were nice, but they did seem annoyed and not wanting to actually be there. Hopefully they’re able to find a place where they can be treated better. The drinks and food don’t even amount to the cost of what you would be spending, because it’s also expensive, even during happy hour. You would have better luck going down 19th street a little more to all the other gems in center city. I want to return again in the future when the menu changes seasonally, but hopefully they’ll put their management through some sensitivity training to better understand their staff and create a more positive work environment.
