overcharged me by $40 (on top of the tip) and wouldn’t give the extra back. ridiculous
I wasn’t crazy about this place. The food was nothing special. There are a few things that saved it: portion sizes, atmosphere, and the view. The restaurant feels like you are in a boat while it is right on the water. It’s pretty but I wasn’t impressed too much by the food. Good service and good place for an after-dinner drink.
Entire experiences have always been great...My one issue is how small the pours of red wine are. Downtown, everywhere, they are much larger.
Came for supper. Very relaxed yet attentive. Drinks were very good. Elote Corn (so good!!), Malaysian Style Chicken Wings (mild and well cooked), Swordfish Tacos (nice pieces of fish and flavorful aioli), Oysters on the half (cold, clean, briney, yum), Nonna's Meatballs (nice sized meatballs good marinara) and a hot Lobster Roll (big pieces of lobster filled a well toasted brioche). Beautiful open views. Highly recommended!!
Lovely location and decent service. The food is not any good, from quality meats to the preparation. Food is too salty and medium rare is served as well done :/
I recently dined at Reelhouse in Boston after making reservations a month in advance. While the restaurant has positive reviews, my experience fell short of expectations. The issues began with the reservation system, adding two entries to my Google calendar for each location, leading to a costly mistake with Lyft.Upon arrival, the ambiance didn't align with the high prices – booths and televisions were unexpected. The menu's expensive drinks ($17-20) and underwhelming entrees left me dissatisfied. The $29 shrimp fra diavolo lacked spice and tasted store-bought. The $31 salmon dish was small, accompanied by inedible artichokes, lackluster brussels sprouts, unseasoned potatoes, and minimal chimichurri.Despite the culinary disappointments, I must commend our server, Alexa, for her excellent service. However, the odd and limited menu, coupled with the need to box my own food, detracted from the overall dining experience. Considering the prices, a dress code would have been appropriate, as witnessing casual attire seemed out of place. In conclusion, while Reelhouse has potential, my visit left me hesitant to return. A menu overhaul, improved consistency in food quality, and attention to reservation issues could enhance the overall dining experience.
