Swanky and fresh! Eccentric take on some iconic rolls, but the menu still has the oldies like a Dragon, Godzilla, and Philly. VERY reasonably priced food and cocktails. Sit at the sushi bar and watch the masters work! I also loved that the first thing our waitress asked, is if there were any allergies she should be aware of for our safety. It was a nice empathetic touch.

This place has huge sushi pieces. The rolls themselves are normal sized, but each piece you get is giant when choosing their signature rolls. Good luck fitting a whole piece in your mouth. They have great options for sushi and non-sushi. The people next to us got some really good looking rib-like option. The drink was delicious and tasted of honey. All of the sushi was good, but we agreed it did lack some flavor and could have used some more spicy sauces. They had one specialty roll while we were there that had strawberry and after trying it, we agreed that something that sweet just didn't work with sushi. The decor was nice and our waiter was fantastic. The only downside was we didnt have any napkins when we were there so we had to ask and when we arrived at our table they had to quickly find another set of chopsticks . All and all it's probably the best sushi you will find in Madison and the chefs have great plating and creativity.

Great food, but made us wait 30 minutes after our reservation. Nice waiter but slow service, incredibly loud room. Food does not make up for horrific atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious. The deserts are best in town. Creative, tasteful and quality. A+++

RED is my favorite sushi place in the city. My company hosts their dinners here, and the service is always fantastic.

Beautiful restaurant, very nice atmosphere. Service was great. Sushi was alright. Liked the variety and variations, but i’ve had better sushi and for less cost, so for that reason i wouldn’t go back. Fun to try somewhere new and unique sushi rolls though.

RED on W. Washington in Madison is a fun place for delicious food and drinks. The restaurant has a very cool big city vibe. We didn't have reservations but they were able to seat us at the sushi bar which we were thankful since it was a Saturday night. Plus it was fun to watch the sushi chef. We got the following : Appetizers: HEAD-ON SKULL ISLAND PRAWNS Ginger, garlic, Fresno pepper, brown butter panko Yellowtail sashimi Fresh water eel nigiri Rolls: SALMON LOVER Spicy salmon, avocado, cucumber. Topped with seared salmon, ikura, ponzu sauce, togarashi, microgreens TROPIC THUNDER Spicy salmon, avocado, jalapeño, grilled pineapple. Topped with seared tuna, orange miso glaze, ikura, micro cilantro TSUNAMI Shrimp tempura, avocado, jalapeño, cream cheese, spicy aioli. Topped with spicy tuna, king crab, coconut-garlic sauce, scallion, tobiko DRAGON

Expensive. But great sushi options. Nice cocktails.

The hostess worked with us in getting in and our server Maddie (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was phenomenal. Above and beyond service. My partner and I had four rolls including Shroom Symphony, Bliss, Tropic Thunder, and Masked Habenero. I'll say I love mushrooms but I wish Shroom Symphony packed a little more flavor. Besides that I enjoyed all of them. If we didn't get full, we would've finished all four. Sake recommendations were great and my partner ordered the lychee martini and loved it. We'll definitely be back. Vegetarian options: They had plenty of vegetarian rolls and clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options on their menu. Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my dairy and lactose intolerances and asked about allergens before submitting our order.
