One of our favorite Ramen spots in the bay! The broth is out of this world!

A nice small ramen bar. Perfect for friends or family 2-4 people. Order upfront, and then seated. Fast and friendly service. GREAT food, the appetizers and ramen Tonkotsu and spicy miso tonkotsu hits the spot.

R1 used to be one of the better Ramen Restaurants in San Jose, but now, I believe that Hironori, Nagi and Kumako Den have taken the helm of the top 3 ramen places in San Jose. They are still a good choice, but competition is very stiff. Iron Chef Morimoto is also opening up a Ramen restaurant at Santa Row! Lets just hope that this once admired ramen restaurant doesn't disappear into oblivion!
