Ramen Gaijin

This was incredibly disappointing/enraging, especially after reading reviews and seeing that it was a Michelin Bib. We (my wife and I) were there on a Saturday night at 7pm. We were promptly seated after checking in for our reservation and had a pretty incompetent waitress. 1) With my diabetes, I had to ask about carbs and if they would make any substitutions. Nope, wouldn't budge, and she didn't even apologize or offer suggestions; it was just a dry "no substitutions." I didn't want to cause a stink (after all, I knew it was ramen which is just full carbs). I opted for their short ribs (sans rice) and kara-age chicken. To prepare for the fried chicken, I injected insulin, expecting to eat in a normal amount of time. An hour goes by and still nothing, not even an explanation or apology. This is when timing is everything, because without carbs, the insulin will hit and cause my blood sugar to drop. Luckily, I always carry candy on me, but it should never resort to that. Eventually the food came, and my short ribs were four tiny pieces of beef on a plate. I understand that I omitted the rice, but at least make it look appetizing. The chicken and ramen (with one slice of pork) were decent enough in terms of flavor, but it wasn't worth the time and price. 2) If that wasn't enough, we ordered a large carafe of hot sake, and halfway through, we poured out an ant into my cup. When it was brought to the hostess's attention, her response was "oh, we've had an ant problem." So you're telling me they KNOW there's a problem and don't even check their cups/carafes or apologize! This was all levels of bad bad bad. 3) HERE'S THE BEST/WORST PART. They decided to add EXTRA tip for themselves! You better believe that I am disputing this with my credit card. WOW. Will never repeat nor recommend. Shame on Michelin for this Bib distinction.

Food is not bad, and not really outstanding. To enjoy to the max, get veggie ramen, other ramens are ok, unless you like pork broth a lot, so someone might enjoy and like. Ahi poke was ok, wouldn't order that again. I believe that place is a bit overpriced for the dishes they serve. Service is outstanding, they serve quick and waiters are very nice. I would say food wasn't to my personal taste, friends with me liked it a lot, they had veggie ramen, mine was spicy, didn't impress me. So, I recommend you try it for yourself and make your own call.

Delicious. I could have eaten a million of the steamed Bao. The ramen was delicious as well. Pricey, but worth it for such delicious food. Dietary restrictions: Ramen can be made gluten free, but not sure about cross contamination.

This nice place with good service and okay ramen I am still looking for Ramen place to match my favorite place from restaurant that was closed during pandemic. Ramen Gaijin is okay probably one of the best in the area. But I had much better that's why 4 stars. Also it has a bar so it can get loud and crowded.
