Ralph's Famous Italian Ices of Astoria

We love having Ralph’s in Astoria!

It's sad that I have to give Ralph's one star. I have ordered from them so many times over the years and loved their flavors. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago my wife and I ordered from them again. She got the spumoni cream ice and I got the cookie craze ice cream. As I was eating it, I bit into something hard. Then again. I spit it out and it looked like glass! My first thought is that there is no way this could be glass. Maybe it is crystallized sugar? So I rinsed it under hot water for a while, and confirmed that it was NOT sugar. There were numerous pieces of broken glass in the ice cream!! I tried calling Ralph's to let them know, but apparently nobody answers the phone there anymore. I also reached out to the doctor, super nervous that I might've ingested some glass. It's so sad, because I used to love their flavors. But after this incident, I can never feel safe getting anything from there again.

It's tasty, and Ive generally never had an issue with their ice cream (though they often sell out). That said, the two people in front of me had glass in their ice cream when they bit in.

No Seating, Over Priced Ices, Rainbow Flavor didn’t taste good.

Taste like fake sugar and chocolate and has little bits of what feel like paper in it! They also have 50 flavors that are always out of stock.

Why do they never have anything in stock? This is the third time we’ve been in a few months and each time they’re at least 50% out of stock. Corporate please do better.

Poor customer service and never fully stocked. You wait on a long line just to be told they have very limited flavors available. They didn’t even have vanilla! I definitely do not recommend this location.
