Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill and Patio

Second time dining and was disappointed with the “refurbishment”. First experience we felt the real atmosphere of a New Orleans restaurant (yes, we’ve been there) and it was wonderful albeit on the pricey end. Second time, was seated in a room with no music at all and felt it more suited for CEO sit-down; fancy, a sterile white, and lacking in personality. Food was great but felt cheated out of the “restaurant experience”.

This used to be my favorite place to dine whenever I visited Disneyland but, ever since the remodel/redesign, it has not been the same. The original design had rich character and atmosphere and the food matched. It felt like New Orleans. Now, sadly, the food and building are as bland as each other. Tables, chairs and flooring feel cheap; the food is just ok.

Food was good and so was the service. I would eat there again. It was nice that it was not busy so the restaurant wasn't too loud.

First time eating here and unless the food comes up to the level of the prices they're charging, it will be my last time. It's not that the food was bad, but it was just OK. We started off with Grilled Open-Faced Lobster "BLT" Po -Boy. This was OK. As you can see from the picture, all the lobster is hidden underneath all the greens, but there is lobster in there. For entrees we went with NOLA BBQ Gulf Shrimp & Grits and Lobster & Crawfish Remoulade Roll. We love shrimp & grits, but did not enjoy this variation. We attributed that to the BBQ sauce that made the dish taste sweeter than we're used to. The lobster roll was OK. We took beignets back to our hotel and these were really good! Best part of our meal for sure, especially the raspberry sauce that we got with them. As you can see the word OK is pretty much peppered throughout my review and for the $150 we paid, I don't think it was worth it. Now do go for the beignets, but you don't have to eat at the restaurant for that. Just go around the corner to Beignets Expressed for them.

Always amazing dining venue in Downtown Disney; so many eateries to choose from and my feet and stomach always lead me back here!! Service is always outstanding, atmosphere, fitting and entertaining, and food DELICIOUS! Worth the wait!

I was expecting the typical high price mediocre food experience Disney is known for, however I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was pleasant and very helpful. I ordered the fried calamari appetizer, gumbo, the kids burger meal and jambalaya for my wife and I. Rather than serving the jambalaya to us on one plate she had chef divide the dish into two bowls for my wife and I. While this may seem like a small gesture, it’s often the smallest gestures that leave the biggest impacts.

I can't really comment on the general dining experience here because my experience was part of a large birthday celebration on the balcony. An assortment of hors d'oeuvres were served prior to the appetizer which was a gumbo soup, then there was a salad, a choice of entrees which I chose short rib, shrimp, and grits, then of course, beignets for dessert. The grits and beignets were the best I've ever had. Apparently right next door is beignets express if beignets are all you wanted. The balcony experience was very special and offers a great view of everyones' head down below and a great view of the fireworks that go off at Disneyland in the evening. The service was top notch and every accommodation was met, going above and beyond for a party of at least 17 ranging in all ages. It could get quite chilly in the evening in this area, especially on the balcony, so bring a jacket. Overall, highly recommend getting a table up top and I look forward to dining here again. With this remodeling, it has lost all its charm, expensive place, the food is not good, small portions, the best thing was the attention of the waiter.
