Quesadilla La Reina del Sur

Fun atmosphere, great service and delicious vegan food!

Pedí chilaquiles verdes y me dieron totopos con salsa verde y carne y salsa de la que ponen para llevar asco de comida y el agua de horchata es agua con azúcar y canela $56 por 2 horchatas totopos con salsa y un burrito. Pesimo!!

Such a fantastic place in the vegan scene in Chicago! Truly the best vegan Mexican food I’ve had ever? We got the enchiladas and the sauce it came in was fantastic. The quesadilla is a must get and the chicharrón taco was good too! I love how they had so many vegan meat options and the woman running the whole operation was the sweetest. I will be back!!

A neighborhood icon. sometimes it's so hard to find Mexican dishes made vegetarian, so obviously finding this place has been a gem

Atmosphere: cute but it was a reaaaalllyy hot and humid day and they had no air or fans barely. Service: several mistakes throughout the meal and we were one of two tables (total of 3 guests in the entire place). My partner’s in the service industry and we get it, still giving 4 stars but somewhat frustrating. Food: we have had take out twice before and it was decent however our dine in food was not so great (I know, usually its opposite). Firstly, the chips were inedibly stale. Did not complain, just let that go however after the rest, it adds up. Salsa was good. My huarache was too thin and had to be eaten basically like a taco (they use the quesadilla tortillas for it) . If the soy meat didn’t taste so bad I would have been able to let that also slide a little but the soy meat tasted OFF. To the point I was afraid to eat it. I hate sending food back but I had too and thankfully they did replace it. The second one with chorizo was better. Overall was a mediocre experience. Hope they get better.
