QI Austin: Modern Asian Kitchen

They couldn’t be more rude. The service is horrible. Went for a birthday lunch, and the guy at the entrance told us it was a 15 minute wait. We waited for 45 minutes, before we approached the same guy to tell him that it had been a 45 minute wait. To which he responded “And next time you come, I’ll make you wait an hour.” Completely rude and distespectful.

The place looked amazing and walking in, especially after hearing all the rave about it I a was excited. Went for brunch to enjoy the dimsum, sat down and was given a menu (one paper based and one book). Food was honestly average, some dishes better than others. The better dishes were: soup dumplings, sesame balls and bbq steamed pork buns (which basically arrived at the end of our meal). The not so great dishes were the scallion pancake (oily and overcooked, curry had no flavor), chicken basil dumplings (extremely oily), chicken tarp egg rolls were purely dry, zha Jiang noodles had too little sauce so it was like eating plain noodles and the alligator was more batter than meat.

Wonderful food

Really delicious! I’m amazed how they turned one of the ugliest buildings in Austin to a beautiful restaurant. Love the soup dumplings and almost everything else is a hit!

Expensive! Did was good though
