Punta Cana to go For starters be warned you can’t just walk in and walk out with quick food. You have to order it, wait until it’s made, and then you’re good to go. Because of that you should call in for pick up, rather than order there. Not very good for new customers who don’t know this and don’t have a direct menu to look at. However you can go on DoorDash and look at their menu through there, not many pictures though. I personally had to wait around 20 minutes for an order in the afternoon. Not bad. During popular hours this can easily shoot up to 40 minutes. The good thing about the wait is that the food is fresh, not warm or stale. However, due to its freshness, it can also get soggy or moist inside of the container it’s placed in if you don’t eat it soon after receiving it because of all the heat inside. The general taste of the food was average, nothing great but not bad either. Average food. But this is definitely a Dominican’s dream around providence since I saw them serving items that I don’t see in many other Dominican establishments. A great thing about this restaurant is if you ever get any midnight cravings they’re open an hour or two after midnight. On weekdays it’s until 1AM, and weekends 2AM; good late night option. My criticisms start with the interior, it’s very lackluster and empty. There’s a couple of chairs to sit on while you’re waiting for your food but there’s no tables to eat on. So dining inside doesn’t seem to be an option unless you’re willing to eat the food from your lap. There’s no music inside or decorations so that makes the interior even worse and awkward. One of the items I ordered, the Salchipapa (5th photo), didn’t seem to have some of the meat cooked to the correct temperature. It tasted kind of raw. The price of the food in general is $10-$20, I paid $15 for the Salchipapa but judging by its taste and quantity, I think it’s only worth $9-$10. The items in the fourth photo totaled to around $21. The item in the left (mofongo) was about $16-18. And the item in the right (tostones) was about $5. For the price you pay both items are good especially with quantity Vegetarian options: Vegans shouldn’t eat here, everything if not most of the items here have a sort of meat or pork so if you intend to find a vegan friendly menu here, then you’re better off going to another establishment that caters to vegans more. Most Dominican food isn’t vegan friendly. You can find one or three items here that you can eat as a vegan, but like I said you’re better off going to an establishment that better caters to you rather than going through the trouble here. Dietary restrictions: If you’re trying to eat healthy I would absolutely not recommend coming here. Dominican food is often very greasy and unhealthy. I can’t remember a single thing from the menu that leans on the healthy side. For any religious people, Dominicans also love pork aka chicharrón which is very abundant here so watch out for that. There’s still things you could eat here if you’re religious but you need to really watch out with Dominican food and search up the ingredients of the items. Parking: They don’t have a dedicated parking lot. You’ll have to use curbside parking. The actual front of the store doesn’t have comfortable curbside parking due to the street size, so to park in front of the store you’ll have to partially park on top of the sidewalk in order to make space for cars passing by. The only good curbside parking is around the corner of the restaurant if there’s any space left. Since that part is populated and often used by other businesses too. Kid-friendliness: They have good kid-friendly options, the best item I would recommend for a kid being the Pechurina, maybe with a side of Tostones.
