Don’t let them waste your time trying to find someone with a key to the bathroom or leave you to argue over the bathroom with someone else who was waiting thinking someone was actually in the bathroom while you were gone to get the key so technically you were first in line, as if we were all homeless people instead of customers paying possibly gouged if not at best inflated prices. I was told that they keep bathroom locked to stop homeless people from using it. The process to use bathroom feels like discrimination and at times not accessible equally. The manager seems more intimidating than helpful, IMO, talking to him can even feel demoralizing. Then there was the silent treatment by what appeared to be an employee behind me, pushing with his buggy as I was waiting for other employee to punch some buttons again making you feel they think we are homeless people instead of customers. Obviously no one should be treated unfairly IMO. I only recommend this store for discounts and location. For customer service I would rate it a 0. A lot of the food seems close to the expiry date and probably not as fresh as food found in more upscale stores. Some discounts are back to 50%, but it is often not clear who has key to bathroom. People in back say go to front desk. People in front say go to back. Sometimes they will say go to bakery and no one is there. Not nicest place to shop but location is good. You often have to walk around panhandlers’ legs to get into store. Sometimes they are aggressive and harrass you. Often shelves are blocked by clerks stocking shelves and their buggy full of stock. Often, early in the morning, the 50% stickers are left on from the day before and the stickers for the actual day are not put on yet, and sometimes they act offended, intimidating and rude if you ask for correct date sticker to be put on, so you can get going. Sometimes one clerk will interrupt another clerk, leaving you standing there waiting til they finish their conversation while you are assuming she is supposed to be cashing you out and then she forgets to give you your 50% discount, so it is really important to check your receipt when you shop at this store. On the positive side, someone was thoughtful enough to remove the bar code sticker on 50% discounted tarts, so a shopper could see the mould on bottom of tarts. Can be very slow at self serve, when it is actually open, if the clerk decides that sorting buggies out is more important as soon as you are ready to get items checked, so you waste your time there and waste your time waiting for next metro. Really make sure you check your receipt. Sometimes salad is in wrong category so free salad dreessing is not recognized by cash register. A special says 2 items for $20 and then it comes up as $30 with a 3, that means it was scanned 3 times instead of twice and they added $10 plus applicable taxes. If someone refuses to fix it, go to someone else. They gave me a $10 refund at customer service desk but applicable tax I paid on their error was not refunded. Before that, another lady who was called over by cashier, ignored the fact that I had been charged for three items instead of two, and just walked away. So be very careful. Groceries that haven’t been discounted there, are expensive enough, IMO. Before cashier error: Store was nice, prices were as expected. Good selection of discounted products but you have to eat them very fast because you have bought them on expiry date and won’t be good for long, because the products have probably already been in the display for 3 days, so they won't look expired but could taste expired. Bathroom experience was weird. There was no indicator on door to show if occupied. I was standing there for a while. The clerks told me it was occupied. Finally one of the clerks found someone with a key and unlocked the door, and no one was inside. Didn’t find a way to lock door from inside. One of the clerks gives off the feeling that you are being profiled but the other one was fine, still, inconsistency is time guzzling & unpleasant.
