The food is okay. We ordered the shurma & humus special. The dishes we received were all dirty with food scrapes from previous meals. The owner claimed the dishes "was dirty from previous cheese dishes." The restaurant smelled as cigarettes, and it was dirty. We asked the owner for 3 separate occasions for clean utensils and dishware. We order water, and we're charged soft drink fee. Our total bill came to 80 dollars for the 2 $18 dishes we ordered. We won't be coming back to the restaurant.

This was our second time at this spot. The first time the owner recommended their custom “Love” flavor of hookah — we really didn’t like it at all. This second time we opted for a mix of two flavors that we enjoy and smoke all the time — guava/lemon mint. The owner insisted that it would not be a good mix and he refused to make it for us. He went on about how he knows which mixes go well and we were wrong and how he was the first hookah bar in the US. For starters, google his claim — it’s a lie. The first hookah bar in the US was in NY. But more importantly, how are you going to tell me what I do and do not like, especially when I’ve already had it? We know our flavors quite well and refuse to be mansplained about what can and cannot be mixed. We ended up leaving hookah-less due to the owner’s rude attitude and stubbornness. I would not recommend this place solely for ownership’s overbearing and unpleasant service.

Lovely to have hookah on the patio with Sharky and his niece (?). My salad was a bit overdressed, but was made with fresh squeezed lemon juice. Had a few bottles of Lebanese lager, a cup of house tea with mint picked from the patio. Heaters kept me warm as I did a few hours of work via Hotspot (WiFi is available).

I hate to give this place 2 stars, but the dishonesty when it comes to the total tab… is just difficult to dismiss. There is (apparently) an 18 percent service fee that is not disclosed anywhere on the menu, storefront or when you go up to pay. No itemized receipt is given, the owner simply types in numbers into his register (from memory). While a few dollars off wouldn’t bug me too much, our bill ended up being an extra $30… I believe itemized receipts should always be given, without excuse, even if it’s a handwritten slip of paper. - - - The food and atmosphere, both were amazing. The owner is very proud of having ran the business successfully for multiple decades. Overall, it was a happy and positive dining experience, until we were doing the mental math on our walk home.

We were staying at a hotel on the street and stopped in. The owner recommended the specials and we were not disappointed! The food was so tasty, stuffed eggplant and zucchini. The yogurt sauce to dip pita bread into was delicious I have to say for dining experience in San Francisco I was so impressed and happy with feeling attended to, the joy he has in cooking these special meals. The desert served was a fantastic cheese, honey and pastry. Topped off with a recipe tea that I have never tasted anywhere & will be coming back for. A must try… I have no idea what the negative reviews are about. It’s not a chain restaurant, it’s an owner run and loved- there is a lot of pride in the food served.

I rarely create a review but this guy needs to be put out of business. The whole restaurant is unsanitary. HE WILL MAKE UP PRICES AND NEVER GIVE YOU A Itemized receipt. the hookah was decent however the bowl is never cleaned the hose is never replaced. ITS DISGUSTING.
