What a find for we Cajun neophytes. We came to hear Terry Huval and the Jambalaya Cajun Band and have dinner. What a delight to meet him, Reggie and Ken and learn about French Cajun music and eat fabulous food! Thanks for a wonderful evening immersing these Michiganders in Louisiana culture. Great Music. Great Food! Great service Morgan.
We Went Eat Out Today At Prejean’s Restaurant In Carencro. It’ll Probably Be A Long Time Before We Go Back. I Ordered An Oyster PoBoy And The Wife Ordered The Catch Of The Day With An Extra Side. The Side Was Just A Side Salad. She Asked If She Could Have It Before Her Entree, The Waiter Said Yes Her Side Didn’t Come Out Till Her Entree Came Out. I Thought This Was A Bad Idea And Move On The Restaurant’s Part. Her Side Salad Should Have Come Out As She Asked For It. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY Yet, It Didn’t I Was On The Verge Of Saying Something But I Was Quiet About It. Her Side Salad Didn’t Come Out Until After Her Entree Came Out To The Table. This Is Saddening. Not Only This Matter Was Saddening But Our Waiter Had An Attitude As Well. This Was ALSO SADDENING. It’s Going To Be A Long Time Before We Go Back To Prejean’s In Carencro.
I'm from south Louisiana, but I live in Texas. This past Sunday, 1/21/24, was my third time eating at Prejeans, and it seems to just keep getting better and better; which is hard to do because their food is top tier. Most recently, every trip back home, my family makes it a priority to stop here for lunch/dinner, on our way back into Houston, Tx! This time, I had the "Crispy Cajun Sprouts," which were absolutely DELICIOUS! I have to admit, I'm partial because I love Brussel sprouts and pretty much try them wherever I go. However, with that being said, these were THE BEST yet, and I knew this to be true because my mother, who is not very fond of Brussel sprouts, tasted my dish & said it was really good. The sprouts were roasted to perfection and NOT burnt. The feta cheese and the Thai vinegarette sauce gave it a perfectly balanced tangy sweetness, but the kicker were the jalenpenos on top with the spicy mayo, *chefs *! For my entree, I ordered the Ahi Tuna Steak. It was blackened on a bed of sautéed spinach with garlic butter, along with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and a pistalette (dinner bread). It was a well-balanced meal & bursting with flavor. Our server, Powder, was attentive, warm & pleasant. His pet dog, Louie, is adorable, too! (As we were chatting it up, he showed us a photo) He's a veteran, and so is my mother. Thank you for your service, sir! Until our next visit- keep up the amazing food and service! ❤️
