Ok, the food was fresh and lovely but the portions are very small. We paid £65 for 2 cod chip and.mushy peas with a small Sprite and 1 mint tea. We had literally just finished eating and the waiter has put down our bill. They hurried us to leave and there was still loads of empty spaces.

A Family Feast at Poppies: Halal Fish & Chips in Soho As a family of four wandering the vibrant Soho district, our pursuit of halal dining led us to Poppies Fish & Chips – a gem that resonates with the charm of traditional British eateries. The moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that felt just right. The server at Poppies greeted us with a courteous smile and an eagerness to accommodate our needs, setting a positive tone for the meal. The fish and chips, crafted without a hint of beer battering as we were assured, presented us with a comforting taste of Britain's iconic dish that catered to our halal dietary considerations. While the fish itself was a decent affair, it was the thoughtful service and the assurance of halal preparation that truly made our meal memorable. In the heart of Soho, Poppies stands out as a beacon for families like ours, looking for that authentic British flavor with the peace of mind that comes with halal compliance. For those family outings where cravings for halal fish and chips arise, Poppies in Soho is a destination worth anchoring at. It's a spot where every family member leaves with a smile, ready to return for another round of Britain's beloved classic. #FamilyDining #PoppiesSoho #HalalFishAndChips #SohoEats #BritishClassic Dietary restrictions: Halal

MY FIRST BAD REVIEW IN YEARS. New Yorker went to London for fish and chips in soho but was disappointed. The waiter(s) combined spoke less than 5 words to us and looked uninterested. Ordered normal Cod Fish with chips; the fried dough fell off from the fish immediately when my bf and I both put our forks onto the fish. It was cramped-- EVERYBODY had to move their tables to make a 6 inch wiggle space for their date to move into a seat. Not a very pleasant experience with the staff, atmosphere, and food. Respectfully, not recommended at all.

Soggy and not well seasoned. Definitely not worth the price. I also had the worst apple pie I have ever had in my life, it’s so bitter and sour, awful. Definitely would not recommend this place for fish and chips
