Arrived 11:40am on a Tuesday. Food was full and hot. Restaurant had plenty of space. Filled up a little bit by the time I left. Goat curry and chicken curry was excellent, a long with everything else! Mango ice cream was good and also had chai tea (unsweetened) at the buffet. $18 for lunch buffet!
Am so so glad their lunch buffet is back The food taste authentic I had a wonderful taste Thanku for good service and delicious food.
Beware. I used to frequent this restaurant for their lunch special, I came in today and ordered three lunch specials and instead of informing me that they discontinued the lunch special they sold me something entirely different ( Maharaj Special)at a significantly higher price 24.99 and tried to not give me a receipt and refused a refund when questioned about it later. (I called and said I wanted to Bring the food back because it was not what I had ordered, at all.) The butter chicken was flavorless and made with really old left over tandoori chicken. They had a super cheap curry made with frozen peas(not lentils) and another identical curry with chickpeas. The tandoori chicken tasted old and the bone marrow was discoloring the meat throughout as well as ruining the flavor of the meat. (Frozen chicken) The naan was burnt and oily which is not normal for most Indian restaurants. To top it off they forgot my rice too. None of the food was the same the business is under new ownership, five hours later and I'm sick to my stomach. I was charged $81.00 for three lunches. Be prepared the food and service is recognizable to three years ago.
Best indian food in West Sacramento.
Great food, you gotta try the garbanzo beans, lamb, & goat. Chicken, naan, and the mango ice cream are always good.
I think most people probably come for their buffet which is quite good and has a good variety of items. All the items I had were tasty. Tea was included in the buffet and I was pleasantly surprised. The mango ice soft serve looked good but lacked any mango flavor. Would go back.
The lunch buffet here is by far the best I've had in Sacramento, others don't come close in terms of variety and flavor. Properly good Indian food, well worth driving across town.
A solid spot for lunch in West Sacramento. Good variety of vegetarian and meat dishes on the lunch buffet. The biryani is alway good, butter chicken is a staple and always pleases, and the goat curry is fantastic. I also like the chai on tap and the mango ice cream.
Good selection of food: lamb, goat, chicken, vegetarian dishes, two rice variety, fresh made naan, tea, mango ice cream, fresh lettuce and fruit, etc. Buffet available only for lunch, and on Saturdays. New owner since 2023? Yet same cook. Pointed out to cashier food was barely warm for few dishes at 2.26.24 lunch buffet.
