Perfection, as usual! I often frequent for breakfast, brunch or dinner. The entire menu is delicious. to the Chef. The servers are amazing. I was recently there for dinner after the Oscars. It was fabulous. The souffle is a dream.
Came here with my partner for a drink. The service great, the bar tenders were even better.
So amazing to sit in the Polo Lounge. Absolutely stunning inside the hotel and lounge.
Worst customer service I've ever experienced! The manager Elizabeth is condescending and rude. Should be working at a fast food chain, not a high end place as this one. My husband came in wearing a polo shirt with rip on his jeans which he covered up with his jacket and they denied him access while they let someone with her entire bum hanging out in to the restaurant. Rules should be applied to everyone.
Outrageously priced, for obvious reasons. Tortilla soup is to die for. Great place to go if you want to witness “Hollywood power lunches.” Why was the carpeting all stained by our table? It looked like a murder had taken place. I wish I had taken photos of it.
We visited the Polo Lounge for dinner having made a long standing reservation. Our reservation was for 20.30. The restaurant was full at this time and we were advised to return in ten minutes and we would be seated. Not a great start ~ what is the point in making a reservation if it cannot or will not be honoured? Returning ten minutes later, as advised, the host then told us there was still no table available and we were asked to wait at the bar. Whilst the barman was friendly and professional, the bar area needed a good clean as there were used straws lying about and food on the floor. At around 21.10 (40 minutes after our arrival and reservation time!) we were finally seated at a booth table in the restaurant. Unfortunately we were then ignored… the waiter in our section was clearly unable to manage the 4 or 5 tables he had, as we heard others complaining about incorrect drinks and being unable to attract attention in order to settle the bill. At around 21.30, one full hour after arriving (and by this point very hungry) we decided to cut our losses and leave. I have never before had cause to walk out of a restaurant, especially not one purporting to be a place of quality and tradition (and you will see from my other reviews we are regular diners in “nice” restaurants). AVOID! There are much better places to spend your time and money in LA.
The bar at the polo lounge is where you should spend your time. I took the bar tender’s recommendation to order the chicken parmigiana and I was glad I did. My friend’s entrees of the mushroom risotto and pasta in clam sauce lacked luster. Most of our food wasn’t hot and overall not worth the price. We asked to have the music turned on, granted we were early in reservations, but it felt clear the patio was not equal to the experience happening inside. The inside dining room with its wonderful decor and live music may have improved our experience. Prices for the soup and also dessert were also not worth it. Walking around before and after dinner were way more interesting than where we ate. Overall the price point is not worth it and there’s more fun and delicious choices elsewhere.
