PJ's Pancake House - Princeton

One of our favorite spots in Princeton, and probably our favorite breakfast place period! Get some better WiFi in there so I can post a review!

Got the strawberry banana Nutella waffle while visiting from out of state and it truly was so dang good. The staff was friendly, atmosphere was great, Will for sure be back!

This was by far my worst restaurant experience EVER! Our server, J.L., must have spent a total of two minutes at our table by the end of our 90 minute time sitting at our table. After his subpar service, my friends and I firmly believed he did not deserve to be tipped by the amount suggested on the receipt, which was 18%. After tipping him a custom amount, we left the restaurant and stood outside by the street to talk. J.L. came out of the restaurant and approached us demanding we tip him more and that he “doesn’t work for nothing—that’s not how it works.” He wouldn’t leave until I circled a larger tip amount, and he even double checked that I tipped him 18%. My friends and I were not only infuriated, but also completely confused as to why an individual thinks bad service should still reward a good tip. It was a difficult moment to wrap our heads around going into Easter weekend. We were taken advantage of, and we will NEVER be coming back to a place like this. The food was okay; definitely not worth the high prices and high tip scam!

The experience we had at this location today was incredibly disappointing. My daughter, who is in middle school, visited this restaurant with a few of her friends, and unfortunately, they encountered a terrible situation. Despite leaving a $15 cash tip on the table, the waiter was excessively demanding. Two of the kids were splitting the bill, and when they went to pay individually at the counter, they were unexpectedly charged an additional 18%. Furthermore, when one of my daughter's friends mentioned she only had $1 in her Apple Pay, she was forced into relinquishing it, despite the total bill amounting to $95. It's disheartening to see PJ Pancake house resort to extracting money from 14-year-old middle schoolers. Adding insult to injury, when I approached the restaurant to inquire about this unacceptable behavior, the front desk person's response was shocking. They questioned how they could survive without tips, completely missing the point that tips are meant to appreciate the service provided. I vow NEVER to set foot in this place EVER again.

Great food served fast. I ordered a omelet and was surprised to get a 3 stack pancakes in addition to the omelet. Great service.

Local go to for breakfast. Active vibe and plenty of classic morning meals. Expect a wait, as a line often forms outside.

I had PJ's pancakes before a the pancakes were okay. But I decided to try something completely new from the menu, the breaded chicken schnitzel. Big mistake. I can tell that what I got was either nuked in the microwave, or store bought frozen. Meat was tough and insanely dry, the type of dry you'd get from chicken if it was in the microwave for too long. I guess moral of the story is its called pancake house for a reason, you really REALLY shouldn't get anything else from the menu. Also, service was terrible. It wasn't busy that day at all, the restaurant was half empty, and it took 15 min for a server to notice us and take our order. On top of that, our waiter didn't check on us once during our dining experience to see if we needed anything, but he'd do it the table in front of us and next to us. Not sure why we were ignored that day, but okay.
