Pitfire Pizza

Salad was embarrassing. All the white/yellow iceberg lettuce. You know…the stuff you throw away. Then they drown the salad in way too much dressing I suppose in their attempt to make a lousy salad better. Pepperoni pizza just basic. Too much dough on the edges. Very soggy center. Most likely not returning.

Employees were extremely welcoming and friendly. Did everything they could to make sure our party of 8 had a great experience. Kid-friendliness: Traveling with 4 kids under 10 and hey were awesome with them

The service here was extremely good. Everyone was very friendly and there was prompt service. We went there in the evening, so everything seemed dark. While there was plenty of seating when we got there, I could see there being an issue or a wait as soon as we were able to find a seat to eat. The pizza was pretty good. However, I did order one of their most popular pizzas and it came with ricotta, but there was an entire slice of pizza that didn’t have any ricotta on it, but when looking at different pictures of the pizza from other reviews, it looks like they just didn’t add as much on mine. I think they also take a lot of pride in their house made ranch which cost nearly 2 dollars for a little few ounces of it. Not to mention it tasted a lot like blue cheese without the chunks of blue cheese in it. I do not like blue cheese, so someone else might like this ranch dressing more than I did overall it was a decent experience.

Pitfire offers a great combination of good food and relaxed atmosphere. Pay and sit at any table style. Good pizza good selection of beers and other options. We really enjoyed their pies and will definitely go back. Good manager, they screwed our order with my kid's pizza coming latem. He came personally to apologize and gave us a gift card for our next visit. Kudos for that. Location central Costa Mesa, so parking could be challenging.

My friends and I visited for the first time this weekend. We sat in the speakeasy area towards the back. It was super cute and moody, I loved the music. :’) I ordered the Field Mushroom pizza and it was amazing. I felt so bad though, we had a wobbly table and accidentally knocked over a couple of our drinks. So sorry for the mess!

Pizza was delicious. I’m from Philadelphia and pizza is our staple food for us. Compares to East Coast which says a lot. Just wish it was larger.
