For the past couple years, Pinion has been a go to spot for a fantastic selection in beer and refilling my growler. I have brought many of my friends, friends of friends, along with people visiting in their travels to this fabulous place. I’ve never had a problem with the service or anyone there. I have always been treated well. That said, my opinion may shift away from visiting there in the future. Recently, this particular review is for the owner or managers of this establishment. I do hope this finds you well. This night, on Monday evening. A friend and I purchased pizza next-door and sat at the last table, closest to the garage door, like many other occasions I have done this in the past. However, I just decided to order a beer next-door first. Which typically I normally purchase all of my beer at Piñon in the combination of pizza. Reason? They had some thing they hadn’t tried, and I just wanted to quickly try it. Also, my friend wanted some thing that they didn’t carry next door. the place was empty for the most part, maybe six people total. We were not bothering anybody nor taking up room from any other future customers. I assume it was someone that was working there, approach us, and told us that we don’t normally allow outside alcohol here and we’re closing soon. I’ve never been approached in this way, there was no pleasantries, nor hello or discovery if I was going to order a drink from pinon as I normally do. It just doesn’t seem very pleasant, nor necessary to approach someone like this. Personally, I can see the point, while I don’t agree that this particular rule should be enforced. Because it is important that people in the community promote and bring healthy patrons to the establishments that they enjoy. It shouldn’t matter that we were sitting at the table next-door and hadn’t quite ordered there, or not. We were not bothering anybody. And if this is really, what’s truly important that you have to be a customer or not, when sharing a common area with the business next-door. Then this is not a place I would particularly like to invest and tell people about. I don’t think that this is true. For whatever reason this person was just, for lack of better words. Seem to be on a power trip. However if approach in a different method. Then I would not be leaving this review. But I think it’s important as a business owner to understand how their employees represent their business. As a manager, and a business owner part time, I would not particular put so much effort into worrying about stuff like this. Because if a patron is sitting at my place, more than likely, it’s because they plan on coming back and enjoying it and telling other people about it. The power of word of mouth is move valuable, what makes a community. Shouldn’t matter that a person has been there many, many times before. The one time I change my routine, this is the response? That particular staff member, it just wasn’t cool, that’s all. She might have been in her full right of saying, and enforcing the rules or rule. But it’s how they did it. I just don’t think it was necessary.
